The hips under mine shift, her legs scissoring.

Shelby turns her head, resting her cheek on the pillow.

Lying my body over hers, I entwine our fingers. Soft puffs of air hit our hands. Little pants that slowly grow steady.

A few minutes later, Shelby’s body lies completely still below mine. My blood itches in my veins.

The feel of the cotton wool in my fingers gives me a full-body shiver.
