“I do,” Xavier's voice is strong, filled with conviction and love, tears streaming down his face.

“I do,” my voice is steady, sure, my own tears spilling down my cheeks.

“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now k—”

Before the celebrant can even finish his words, Xavier grabs me by my face—his touch gentle yet firm—and kisses me passionately. He bends me backward as he leans over me, our lips meeting in a moment of pure love and connection. The crowd erupts into cheers and loud whistles, the sound echoing around us. At this moment, I am complete,whole.

Despite all the turmoil, heartbreak, and loss, surrounded by our loved ones, I can feel my parents with me, their presence a comforting embrace, their love enveloping us like a protective shield. And here, in Xavier’s arms, cocooned in the warmth of his love, despite everything, I have found what I never thought I’d be able to find.
