Ididn't run again.

I lay awake while they rested, still reeling in the pleasure that I'd experienced. I smelled like them. I tasted their sweat and their love. They'd taken me, used me, claimed me, and ruined me.

I belonged to them now.

I stopped thinking about the town. I stopped thinking about my jerk dad, my dead mom, my stupid school. Nothing mattered anymore except them. Pearce. Ainsley. These twisted men had chosen me as their third.

They were my tormentors and my saviors.My Kings.

What would happen next for me? What was my destiny in all of this mess? I didn't know, and I didn't care.

That would wait until the storm came to an end.

Right now, all I could feel was my heart beating in rhythm with theirs.

Pearce's hand trailed up and down my arm, sending shivers through my body. Ainsley twirled his fingers in the tangled curlsof hair at the nape of my neck. It felt like all my life, I had been waiting for this moment. This comfort. This security that I could only feel when I was in their arms.

"Willow?" Pearce asked, his voice low and rough against my ear.

I hummed in response, unable to find the words to express the whirlwind of emotions that consumed me.

"You better get some rest, little mouse," Pearce murmured, his hand stroking my hair gently. "We've got a big day ahead of us."

I nodded, my mind already drifting toward the possibilities of what that could mean as the terrible winter wind roared outside.

Whatever it was, I would face it without fear, with Pearce and Ainsley by my side.

One day, they might turn on me. But not today. I’d been spared yet again and made a promise to myself at that moment to make the most of it.
