“Now that that’s all settled, I have a present for you all.” She nodded toward Smoke whose eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. He pushed off the wall and opened the door shouting out commands. A string of curses and grunts quickly followed as Smoke threw a bleeding Vinny into the room.

“I will fucking kill you,” Vinny spat, and Smoke smacked him upside the head.

“Shut the fuck up.” Smoke took his gun out from his belt and handed it to Sofia. He kicked Vinny in the back of the legs, forcing him to kneel in front of Sofia like the peasant he was.

“You can’t kill me. They’ll never follow you, Sofia,” Vinny sneered. “No one gives a shit about your last name or who your father was. That’s why it was so easy to get him killed.

Sofia felt her blood freeze at the mention of her father’s death. Dom had told her of his suspicions, and the idiot that Vinny was just confirmed it.

She knelt down and grabbed onto Vinny’s face. She forced the tip of the gun into his mouth—moving it back and forth slowly—making him suck on it in front of everyone. It be too easy to kill him, as much as she wanted to watch him slowly bleed out. It would be too easy of a death for him.

Sofia removed the gun and addressed her Council. “My present to you all since he was behind the drive by at Tres Bellas and the damage done to your casino, Wolf. Nico and Bebo, this is your gift for being good friends to Dom when this life dictates every man for himself.”

Sofia sat down in her chair, interlacing Dom’s fingers with her own. There was no reaction out of any of them except for Wolf who had a small smile on his face. “I’ll allow you to choose what you to do him. But once we decide collectively, the same is to be done to the traitors who stood beside him in my father’s organization.” All seven heads nodded in agreement. “And this will cement your role as a member of the Council. If you can’t get behind me at all, now’s the time to leave—this is a for-life position.”

The room went silent like each member was weighing their options. She wouldn’t take it personally if any of them walked out. This world was better survived on your own, but she knew the power moves these seven could make together.

Nico and Bebo stood. “La familiais for life. Told you we’re in.” Nico’s smile was wide as he spoke.

Wolf, Seven, and Cree stood as well. “Is there a way we can beat the damage to my casino out of him? We’re in,” Wolf said.

Otto and Gianna stood. “We’re in,” Gianna spoke, “as long as the loyalty you ask for is returned. Men have been in charge for too long, and they’ve destroyed everything they’ve touched. I think it’s time a woman runs things.”

“The Unhinged Brothers are with you as well, Ms. Barbati.” Carter spoke, and Smoke shouted a hell yea behind her. “I know an MC has no place in mob wars or at the same table, but we got you.”

Sofia nodded, feeling a wealth of pride surge through her chest. She knew with this many egos in the room, she was sure to hit a hiccup or two along the way. But if they were as determined as she was to see this through, they’d be unstoppable.

Sofia and Dom stood up. “To the Council.” Sofia nodded her head at each of them.

“To the Council,” they all said in unison.

Dom leaned down, bringing his lips to Sofia’s ear. “Long live my queen.”

The end!
