Page 74 of His to Bedevil
Groaning out loud, I drop my chin down to my chest and shake my head. I wish he were evil, I wish he were a nightmare. It would make hating him so easy. But the way he treats me, the things he says to me, it makes it impossible to hate him. Seeing how he treats his mother and the bond he has with his brother and even Berto. It isn’t evil.
He captured me.
He tortured me.
He locks me in his room and only lets me out with him or his brother guarding me.
He captured my one and only friend.
He let my one and only friend be killed.
He made me marry him after threatening my friend with his life.
He’s a mob boss.
His business and empire thrive off of drugs, illegal weapons, and human trafficking.
He’s killed many people.
He’s ruthless.
He’s heartless.
He’s menacing.
He’s selfish.
He has a temper.
He loves his mom, and he loved his dad.
He loves his brother.
He takes care of me.
He’s nurturing.
He can be gentle.
He can be sweet.
He has a playful side.
He’s dedicated to the family business, and sometimes carries the world on his shoulders.
He’s absolutely gorgeous.
He’s literally the sexiest man alive.
He’s a munificent sex god.
He married me…
Damnit, that didn’t work. It turned into things I like about him.
I head back inside and go into the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day. I only partly dry my hair, letting it dry naturally the rest of the way. I debate on what kind of makeup I want to put on, but reconsider and go pick out what I want to wear first.
Alejo has yet to take me shopping, but he did let me do a bunch of online shopping. Under his supervision, of course. He literally had me sit in his lap at his desk while he hovered over my shoulder, just watching me online shop. It wasn’t exactly uncomfortable, but it was nerve-racking. I do admit, though, he was extremely patient. Sat there silently, doing whatever on his phone behind me for a straight hour. So many times I wanted to ask him his opinion on stuff, but then I remembered I’m not supposed to care about whether or not he likes or dislikes something.
