Story: His Mate
"Wow," Aliyah whistled when Rasmus drove out the Black Maybach and her eyes ran over the sleek color before going to the man beside her. "You outrun this?"
Edward smirked and didn't answer. He opened the backseat door and Aliyah entered while he entered after her. Rasmus glanced at them at the rearview mirror and nodded when he saw the go ahead from Edward and the car drove out of the property.
When they got to the human realm, Aliyah wowed. If she was still in her pack, then she definitely would be getting a beating for coming her so good thing she won't be going back there for a while and which means she can finally have a good tour in the place, something she has never been able to do. Rasmus took them to the mall and they went to different shops, picking out nice clothes for her.
When their hands were full, Aliyah wondered if maybe she had bought a little too much but Edward didn't seem to mind as he ordered Rasmus to take the bags to the car and asked her if there was anything else. When Rasmus left, carrying all the bags without a care in the world, she turned to the man who was peeking through the glass doors of another shop. "You have changed," she whispered.
"You have changed," he repeated and she chuckled.
"No seriously," Aliyah said. "I have spent the whole day with you and not once did you talk about killing me and how you will enjoy doing it." He looked at her and she shrugged, "before, you say it every minute."
Edward didn't reply and just took his gaze back to the store. He could understand her; even he was surprised how he hasn't felt resentment towards her for once since the day —not like he had ever felt resentment towards her but his mind telling him to—. He has hated howlers all his life and never thought that he would ever be at peace with one of them to talk of being mated to one but last night really changed a lot. Maybe he can't say for the other howlers but he knows now that she is different —just like his heart has been telling him since he first saw her— and guess, that's all he needed to know. "You don't need those?" he asked after some silence.
Aliyah took her gaze to the store, it was a jewelry store and she shrugged. "I don't have any party to attend so I'm good."
Edward glanced at her and without saying anything, he grabbed her hand and pushed open the glass door. Heads turn at their entrance and Aliyah felt like clawing at the faces of the women that were obviously smitten with Edward's looks. Back when she was with Eric, she has never felt jealousy or possessive but now, she just couldn't understand the feeling that was gripping her and she just wants to toss everyone of them out of a cliff. She hugged Edward's arm, leaning closer to him and smiled dangerously at the women.
Edward noticed the sudden change in the woman with him and only smiled softly, ignoring the other patrons as he led her to the necklace that has caught his eyes. He quickly pointed at it and a blonde haired woman rushed with a flirting smile to attend to them. "I want that one."
"Oh, a very nice piece," the woman smiled. "Beautiful men goes for beautiful things, I see." She chuckled. "This is the heart of the ocean, molded and carved from the finest piece. Some said that if you listen hard enough that you can even hear the sound of the waves due to the explicit detail and craftsmanship."
"Can you just bring it out?" Aliyah hissed and the woman finally glanced at her for once.
"Calm down dear, I am sure your brother wants to choose the best one, so give him some time."
"Brother?" Aliyah asked, now really annoyed. "If he was my brother, can I do this?" she pulled at Edward's arm and turned sharply, wrapping her hand on his neck as she smacked her lips on his. Gasps sounded everywhere and she was sure Edward's was one of them. His lips were the softest she had ever kissed and his dead plant cell all but pulled her in the more. She felt a sting on the mark on her neck and she stood on her tiptoes, her hands wrapping round his neck as she deepened the kiss.
Kissing him was definitely not what Edward thought the little wolf would do. He was surprised, stunned and shocked but when she ran those lips on his, all manner of rationality ran away from him as he closed his eyes, his hands encircling her waist as he lowered his head to make it easier for her. He nibbled on her lower lip and then her upper one, and she moaned, giving him the access to thrust his tongue into her mouth as he felt the internal heat building up inside him.
Rasmus stood shocked outside the store, he just left to drop the bags and now he came back to meet this? He cleared his throat and finally pushed open the door, standing beside it as he watched the two people kissing just like everyone else in the store.
"Fine, you have proved your point," the woman said when she couldn't take it anymore.
Aliyah finally let go of Edward and they both stared at each other. She could still feel the stinging on the mark on her neck and the pull to just get closer to him. Edward recovered first and turned to the woman. "We will take the Heart of the ocean if you please."
Aliyah smiled then and leaned into his arms, staring at the woman with a raised eyebrow. The woman rolled her eyes at her and she growled softly and it took Edward grabbing onto her hand to stop her from transforming. Damn it, her wolf is really over-possessive.
"Of course, I will package it for you," the woman said and glared at Aliyah before bringing the necklace out of the show-glass.
Edward leaned and whispered to Aliyah just as the woman was packaging their order. "Sure she is attractive," he sensed her stiffen and the low guttural sound she made all but made him smile, "to feed on," he added and she calmed immediately, looking up at him. He chuckled and winked at her, then turned back to the woman.
Aliyah reprimanded herself in her mind that she was happy over the promised death of someone else but she just can't help it, the woman asked for it when she dared to challenge her. Rasmus walked forward and paid for the necklace and together they walked out of the store but not without Aliyah turning around and sticking her tongue out at the woman. She was being childish, she knows but the woman asked for it.
"We should probably get you something to eat before heading back," Edward said, his lips still tingling with the sensation from the kiss and he can't deny that he really wants more, to kiss her more and do something else. He cleared his throat and pointed at a restaurant right across the store. "There, they will serve some things you would like."
Aliyah nodded and followed him, everything finally downing on her and she felt pretty embarrassed about her action. She stared up at Edward but the man's focus was on his direction and she gulped. She licked her lips, still getting his taste and she wanted to pinch herself. Why did she do it? The woman really got the best of her but hey, he kissed her back did he not? She could still remember it, she could almost still feel it, his hands on her waist, his lips moving against hers. The mark stung her again and she touched it, a sense of pleasure rushed through and she shivered.
"Stop," Edward whispered and she looked up at him but his gaze was still at the restaurant. She gulped again, momentarily remembering that he could sense her thought and feeling embarrassed all over again.
When they finally got seated, Rasmus handed Aliyah the menu just as his cell phone started ringing. He frowned and glanced at Edward, "I have to take it My Prince, its from the High Chief."
Edward waved him away and he bowed and walked out of the restaurant. Edward's gaze turned to Aliyah and he chuckled when he noticed she was avoiding his gaze using the menu. He reached forward and pushed it down, rising an eyebrow at her.
"What?" she asked when she couldn't take his questioning gaze anymore.
"You kissed me," he said simply.
"You kissed me back," she accused.
"But you kissed me first."
"And you..."
"Shush," he interrupted.
"Don't shush me," she warned.
"Wait," he said, his gaze scanning around the restaurant quickly and he took a long sniff.
"What is it?" Aliyah asked, finally understanding that something was wrong.
"Howlers," he said and stood up. "Wait here, I will be back," and he walked out of the restaurant.
Aliyah watched him leaving, wondering if it was the rogues again and she heard her heart beating loud in her chest as she thought of what the humans would do if they have to fight them here using their true forms. "Finally, I thought he will never leave," someone said and she turned sharply to see a woman right where Edward just got up from. "Hello, Princess," she smiled.
