"I'd say it's nice to see Nadira, but we both know, it's really not.

" River exclaimed as his eyes looked behind him to where she stood, Nadira was as beautiful as his mother, but she was unhinged after all that happened to her which she blames River for, in all rights she had a right to blame River but taking it out on the pack was not necessary.

"I know what you're gonna say, why attack the pack, why not just come for you.

" She asserted making River snicker as he still sat on the high tree branch looking down on Nadira.

"I didn't attack them, Mahadhiv did, I only did what he asked because I had my own end goal and it led to you, finally I would get to kill you.

" She hissed, further showing her hatred for her nephew.

"I wish you and Nadia had talked —" River paused, fate unraveled in his eyes and a wicked smile crossed his face.

"She told you, and you actually still believe I did it, for the record I did throw Vik into that coffin, his incessant proclamations of love for me were too much to handle, after all he was my uncle.

" River taunted the woman as his silver hair softly waved in the wind, it had grown past his waist now, yet Julian liked it that way.

"How dare you even speak his name." Nadira spat as she hurled a bolt of lightning toward River but the boy held out his hand, it glowed white and the lightning was absorbed.

"Temper temper, we'll get to that soon, I just want you to know, for the record, as Nadia would've delightfully said, I never meant to hurt you aunty, but you never saw how toxic Collen and Vik had gotten, now look even after they are dead, you're filled with hate and a vengeance that consumes all.

" River finally expressed it, expressed his feelings of hurt for Nadira but it was no use now, she was too far gone.

"I don't care for your pretty words River, you will pay for what you did, I'll make sure of it today!

" She proclaimed as she sent a wind blade that cut the branch River was sitting on, a crystal platform replaced the branch and River remained in the air clearing his mind for what was about to happen.

"As you wish." He conceded as Nadira hurled lightning at him, he responded by sending his own, the two spells clashed in the middleone trying to overpower the other, Nadira let the spell into one hand and cast another one, a vortex of wind whirled its way toward River but he held out his hand creating a bigger wind tunnel that overtook Nadira's, he clenched his fist snuffing it out, when Nadira saw this she hissed lowly and lowered her hand, River was just as strong as she was if she remembered correctly and also had Brooke blood, he wouldn't be easily taken down.

But no matter, she held her hands out and conjured a vortex of water in front of her.

"Aquavalia." She cast the spell creating a water jet that hurtled toward River, he inturn stomped his foot on the ground raising a wall of earth, then vanishing and appearing above Nadira.

"Lightning Rage." He cast the spell releasing bolt after bolt of lightning on the woman below, she barely screamed as she quickly created a barrier to shield herself but it began to crack and as River continued with his barrage it eventually shattered and pure unbridled lightning hit her over and over again until it exploded and she was thrown into a tree then rolled on the ground, Nadira didn't stay down for long she flipped to her feet and shot up into the sky conjuring a blade into her palm, one she slashed foward at River with.

The white haired witch made a crystal barrier that took the hit and reinforced itself after, a blade also appeared in River's palm and it clashed with Nadira's, hekept her occupied as they did their sword dance until his spell was ready.

"You should've really looked down. Spiraling Orca.

" River cast the spell as a spiral of water shot up from the ground and slammed into Nadira one after the other, it consumed her pulling her back down to the ground.

"Serpentine devoure thy enemy." And snakes conjured by River's magic were formed in the water, and one by one they hailed a barrage of attacks on Nadira, the last two tore her flesh apart before slamming her into the ground forcing her to drown.

The woman screamed in fury as the water began bubbling up, she let loose an all consuming vortex of fire that destroyed the water prison instantly but she had been severely injured as she staggered to her feet bleeding.

River smirked, annoying the woman but that's exactly how he was winning, it seemed so simple but her anger was blinding her, and he took full advantage of it, he dropped down from the sky opening a summoning circle and from it shards of sharp ice were hurled at Nadira from above, she created a blazing fire wall that wouldn't let the ice shards past, then leapt into the air.

"Dark emminent: Ignite." From the air around them dark spheres began to form and as they were ignited River knew to raise his shield, they exploded in a furious bombardment, shattering his barrier then exploded even more throwing him to the ground where Nadira was waiting, she waved her hand uprooting a whole wall of earth and slamming it into of River effectively breaking his arm, she stood triumphantly over the rubble and shot up into the sky to attack again.

She held her hands up and amassed fire in a compressed sphere, combined it with shade energy making it dangerous to anyone and she let it loose on River, once it touched the rubble it exploded like a bomb creating a crater where River supposedly was and destroying a large piece of the forest. River was never caught in the blast, he had healed his arm and ported away just in time to help his mother kill a vampire that was sneaking up behind her then he shot up into the sky to Nadira whose face morphed into one of anger.

"Did you really think that would take me down, crystal devourer.

" River cast the spell encasing the woman in a crystal cage that ate away at her flesh, the crystal pod began to vibrate and slowly shatter and it did revealing Nadira with an arm showing the bone beneath the skin.

"Hydra's rage." A vortex of acid was shot at River, on contact it would eat away at his mana then explode but he created a crystal mirror and reflected it back.

"Naishi mendo vorta." He added and the spell Nadira cast was rebounded to her ten fold, using a tunnel of wind most of the acid was blown away but some singed her skin.

The woman lunged for River and punched his chest, making him grunt loudly but he wasn't moved back, he grabbed the hand that punched him and let loose currents of raw electricity and dark matter into Nadira making her scream in agony, he further flipped over and kicked her jaw making it crack.

"You should've never attacked my pack." River grolwed as he compressed his flame into a tiny sun like sphere and set it on the falling witch, when she hit the ground, it exploded burning her in flames that destroyed the trees all around her into ash.

When River's attack subsided Nadira was staggering to her feet, she looked to River with eyes full of pain, hate and anger, and he knew, she would do anything to kill him, a dark glow overcame Nadira, and River knew she was channeling dark energy into her body most likely for an all out attack.

"Mortem socriph." She cast the spell and River's eyes glowed seeing the trace of magic, he then waved his hand diverting its target, onto the trees and like the curse was supposed to do to him, it shredded the trees apart.

Nadira smirked as she held out her hand.

"Loki's Prison: Dore kathu vor." She cast the spell shocking River, she couldn't know that spell and the amount of mana needed for it was exponential, no wonder she was accumulating dark energy.

River was too late in rebounding the prison, his mana was muffled out, meaning his magic wouldn't protect him on the outside and he was frozen in place like a stature.

"I went out of my way to master this spell so that I'd use it on you one day, and look, it's finally time.

" Nadira explained as River was lowered to the ground, he readied himself for whatever would come.

As he stood frozen Nadira created a black sphere of pure chaotic magic, she forced power into it, as it grew bigger and bigger, then she conjured a blade into her hands, it reeked of dark souls and sacrificial magic, the kind young witches were told never to practise even when they were old and mature enough, it not only consumed your enemy but you aswell.

"You'll die today." Nadira announced as a magical purple wave of energy rippled out from her, throwing Zaya, Chad and his mother away, then another barrier encased the two of them as her sphere groaned above them, it was ready.

River stood ready, allowing his being to be consumed by his magic, but he was still frozen only after he was free could he fight.

The witch held out her hand and her attack hurtled toward River, raising debris as it charged at him and the moment it touched his body, it exploded.

River didn't scream as his whole body felt as if it was being shredded into pieces then those pieces were being burnt in hell fire until nothing remained, the pain overcame his body completely, around him a cataclysm occurred, winds, lightning and earthquakes all raged destroying everything in any direction, Jocely and Chad held their barrier together with Zaya inside, they could only hope River had survived this, River incapacitated by the blast lay on the ground as Nadira took her chance and lunged for him dropping from above to plunge the dagger meant to kill River into his chest, she impaled him with it and drove it deep into his chest just as a cackle left her lips, she had done it, she was victorious.

"Finally, finally!" She proclaimed as the debris settled and River had a dagger in his chest.

Everything was silent, only the sound of burning wood could be heard as River lay on the ground, his mother and friends were back to their feet fighting off the rest of the wolves that stood to support Nadira and Mahadhiv.

Nadira staggered to her feet, finally she had done it, but something was wrong.

The dagger was suddenly engulfed in white flames, it turned to ash just as River opened his eyes, they weren't normal, they were white and blue catslits that shocked Nadira, he held out his hand and an unexpected force blew Nadira away, he breathed in deep feeling his body heal completely, taking in the dark magic had significantly drained him but now he was okay, he rose off the ground as his hair turned to white flames and his whole body vibrated differently as if he were swimming in a sea of power and indeed did he was.

"How?!" Nadira demanded as River waved his hand and she was engulfed in white flames that scorched her, at light speed he appeared infront of her with a crystal blade and impaled the woman, the blade branched out like rose vines and impaled more of her body breaking her body apart.

"I'm not the same River you knew Nadira, I was afraid of using my power because I often lost control but not now, not anymore.

" River whispered in Nadira's ear as her eyes widened in fear.

"Luficer's Prison: Carnage of the World Burner.

" River cast the spell as a pentagram and then a tetragram burned themselves on the ground, he kicked Nadira to the ground but not before another crystal blade sliced off her left arm.

Nadira was terrified as the prison she was held in froze her in place like hers did on River, but instead of just that shades began appearing all around her and began eating her soul, mana and body.

"River stop, please, no!" She begged but River never looked down, more of his power showed as pure white wings appeared on his back and he looked to the sky with clouds that were gathering.

"Soldem phatum kethu anukur mortem : Heaven's Purge.

" He cast the spell as different coloured spheres of light cascaded into the sky, the clouds rumbled as the spell accumulated power, he turned to see his mother killing the last of the vampires on their side and waved his hand creating a crystal platform that raised her up from the ground, he did the same for Chad and Zaya as he held out another hand.

"Crytal impaler." As the spell was cast crystals shot out of the ground and grew creating shards that impaled and killed every last one of their enemies.

The four of them turned to Nadira as she begged for mercy below, none of them cared as the spell finally took effect hailing down the largest beam of rainbow light that any of them had ever seen, it vaporized Nadira leaving not a trace of her, then the magic rippled outward killing any being that stood with Mahadhiv and Nadira, once it wore out Zaya had her mouth hanging low.

"That, was unbelievable!" She cheered in absolute awe making the witches laugh as did she.

"Finally mom." River mumbled as his wings faded into the wind but they remained in the air above everything.

"I think we could use a bit of rain." Chad chuckled lighty as he held his hands to the sky and soon his spell took effect conjuring rain clouds that poured on the scorched land below, with a little magic they could bring back the forest in no time.

"We did it." Chad cheered as they group hugged, indeed they had done it, they had survived, River would have his children in peace now, he could finally rest and enjoy being in love and those pregnancy cravings..

Thank you for reading His Match this far, it has been an absolute pleasure rewriting this book in the original plot, there were adjustments but I believe this version of His Match, is true and as genuine as the love I have for it.
