Ignoring the dozen females who’ve been pawing at me and taking selfies, I turn toward the very door Dankin just rushed through. There could be a dozen females in the entrance room checking in. Is my mate possibly injured?

I have to assume someone is hurt to warrant Dankin being summoned. I’m actually surprised they didn’t just send whoever it is to the hospital. Why call the ship’s doctor?

We aren’t allowed to leave the club for any reason. When we arrive at the mothership, we travel down to Club Zoom in a pod. We land on the roof, move into one of the flats above the club, and visit the club every night until we find a mate.

We don’t even go into the entrance area. There’s no need. Except my mate is in there somewhere.

As soon as I open the door, her scent returns to fill my entire being. It penetrates deeply, nearly bringing me to my knees. Everything I’ve heard is true. One whiff of my mate and I’m consumed.

I spot John at the entrance to his office, filling the doorframe. He’s nowhere near as large as me or any other Eleadian male, but he’s a big guy for an Earthling.

“John?” I call out as I approach him from behind.

He spins around, frowning.

I nod beyond him. “What’s going on?”

“A woman fainted. Dankin happened to have been in the building, checking on medical supplies, so I called him. It was faster than an ambulance.”

My heart is racing. I scent three females in the room besides Dankin and Zack—Club Zoom’s manager. Is mine the one who fainted?

I step closer. “John…”

He’s still frowning. Suddenly, his eyes widen. “Oh fuck.”

I nod.

“I haven’t even gotten them to sign the paperwork, Kalbrac.”

“Do you think I care about paperwork?” I’m running out of patience.

John sighs and steps out of the way, allowing me to rush past him. I was moments from bodily removing him from blocking me.

It takes me less than a second and one inhale to know my mate is the one passed out on the loveseat. I’m on my knees next to her in a flash, cradling her head in my palm, grasping her small hand in mine. “What happened?”

She takes my breath away. My fingers thread through her thick brown waves. I suspect her tanned skin is paler than usual. I want to see her eyes.

I might have pushed Dankin out of the way a bit to get into this position. He’s next to me now, a hand on my shoulder. “I don’t know yet. I just got here.”

“She fainted,” one of the other females says. “She’s been overly tired lately. The doctors don’t know why.”

I glance at the female now standing at my side.

She’s wringing her hands with worry. “Are you a doctor, too?”

“No, Little one. I’m her mate.”

The female gasps. Her eyes go wide.

The other female behind her grabs the first one’s hand. “Are you sure?”

“Positive,” I inform them as I turn my attention back to my mate. I’m not panicking because I can feel her heartbeat and her steady breathing. She’s not choking or in cardiac arrest or anything. Nothing is obstructing her airway. She’s just asleep. But why?

“I need to examine her,” Dankin says.

“Can we move her upstairs? Is that safe?” I ask him.

Zack clears his throat behind us. “Kalbrac…”
