Laith lifted a hand, stopping Jonas from continuing. “I don’t care what you think of the employees in my businesses. You treated Andi unfairly. And because you deliberately shifted her out of first class, you will be provided economy class fare back to Pennsylvania.” He lowered his voice, his eyes furious. “Now, get the hell out of here!”
One of Laith’s bodyguards stepped up to Jonas’ desk, putting a hand on the man’s upper arm. “I’ll escort you out, Jonas.”
Jonas tried to pull his arm away, but the guard tightened his grip and dragged him out of the office.
Andi turned to Laith, her smile a bit tremulous. His hands were heavy on her hips as she said, “I had no idea that he held that much animosity towards me.”
“The team’s job is to figure out the bad elements so that, once my brother and I hire a director to run the company, everything will run smoothly.” He kissed her. “After the revelations about Lawrence’s sadistic hobbies and Jonas’ misogyny, seems like you’re doing an excellent job. If Jonas was treating you poorly, he was probably treating other women badly too. You just brought his disrespect out into the light. Thank you!”
Andi chuckled and kissed him back. “I love you.”
He grinned and pulled her closer. “I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing that. But keep on thinking about how much you love me. Because this weekend, I’m flying you home so you can meet my family.”
“Are they that bad?”
He sighed heavily, his expression grim. “They are that overwhelming.”
Epilogue
Flying into a foreign country was exciting enough. But flying into Lativa, only to be met by a line of black SUVs and armed guards, was a whole new experience.
Andi stepped out of the plane and looked down just in time to see two more tall men standing by the SUV, smiling at her. The two men looked similar to Laith and Andi suspected that the older man was Laith’s father and the other was one of Laith’s uncles. The beautiful, vibrant woman with the lightly greying hair had to be Laith’s mother, Princess…something. What was her name?
Andi squeezed Laith’s hand and he glanced down at her, immediately understanding her nervousness.
“They are going to love you,” he promised. “My twin brother isn’t here yet, but I know that he’s going to love you as well.”
“Right,” she whispered, then took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. “I’ve just…never met royalty before.”
He paused and turned her so that she was facing him. “You’ve met me, Andi. I’m royalty. Just trust me and be yourself.”
“I do,” she replied, leaning up to kiss him lightly. “And I will.”
“Words I love to hear,” he teased, then took her hand and led her down the steps to meet his parents. Before he could say anything more, an enormous brown and black Germanshepherd leapt from the back of the vehicle, his pink tongue lolling over the side of his mouth as he raced up the stairs.
“Brace yourself,” Laith whispered, as he knelt down before the giant dog leapt into his arms, furiously licking his face and wagging his tail. After greeting Laith, the enthusiastic canine turned to look up at Andi, just as eager to greet her with additional licks.
