Chapter eight
Brain Meets Brawn
Absurdo
T hey split us up as soon as we're brought back to the lab, throwing us in temporary holding cages instead of our usual cell. Not knowing if Angelina and Blabbo are okay is going to break me faster than any “testing” the lab could subject me to. There’s no way this place is actually affiliated with any official scientific study.
I pace back and forth in my cage, wishing I could at least see them. Hear them. Something.
We were so close with Rebecca, but once again my impulsivity got the best of me.
If I could only have controlled myself, maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess, but I just had to have her.
Had to toy with Blabbo. Winding him up to see him lose control like that undoes me. I can’t help but push his buttons.
My anxiety rises as I realize the possibility of losing Blabbo. The thought of not being able to see him again. Touch him again. Get him to do that angry face he makes when I come up with a ridiculous idea that he’s going to support, even though he doesn’t want to. I can’t handle this.
Fuck it.
We’ve intentionally been holding back in testing, never letting the doctor know our true potential. Better he underestimate us. If not for this, then for what?
Gripping the bars of my cage, I begin to pull.
They flex ever so slightly, but not enough.
I keep trying, the bend in the bars increasing more and more each time.
I’m exhausted, but finally able to get them far enough apart to squeeze through.
That took way too long, and the cage is obviously damaged beyond repair.
If they catch me now, they will put me in a much stronger box next time.
This is not a well-thought-out plan, but I’m not Blabbo.
Maybe I can’t bend their bars, but the keys to their cages must be somewhere. I’ll figure this out.
Moving quietly, I slip out of my room and down the hallway.
Before we escaped, Encephalon was able to disable most of their security system with a computer virus, so I am hoping that it’s still down.
Given that no guards are chasing after me yet, it seems like a good sign.
I peek through the windows of each door until I find the room where they’re keeping Blabbo. I quietly let myself through the door.
He raises his head wearily, but once he sees it's me, he stands up with a start. The second the door closes behind me, he whisper-yells, “What the fuck are you doing here?”
“Good to see you, too.” We examine each other. He doesn’t seem any worse for wear. “I’m not staying here. We’re getting out, and I’m making sure they can’t take us back this time, or…” I trail off, not listing the other option. I’m not going back in a cage.
He nods, gripping the bars of his cage and pulling.
I might look like the stronger of the two of us, but watching him bend the metal with comparative ease, it’s definitely him.
And it’s fucking hot. I’m bouncing on my toes, watching him and checking over my shoulder to look for anyone in the outside hall.
It’s still quiet. Once he steps outside of his cage, I all but tackle him, wrapping my arms around him.
“I was planning on coming for you. I was finalizing my plan,” he says into my fur.
“I got tired of waiting. You had some time, though. You got anything?”
He shrugs. “Something. It’s not great.” Better than nothing.
He’s right. It’s not great. The only way his plan works is for us to split up. I don’t like it, but I understand. I pull him in for a kiss before opening the door. If this is the last time I see him, I want some kind of positive memory.
“This isn’t goodbye, Absurdo,” he says. I nod, not really believing him.
There are so many ways this could end wrong.
We both know that. He grabs my neck. “I mean it. This is not goodbye. We will see each other soon.” He kisses my forehead.
I can’t look at him, knowing this could be it. “Do you trust me?”
“Of course I do.”
Slamming me against the door, he wraps his hand around both of our cocks. “Then trust me when I say this isn’t it for us.”
“Blab,” I moan. His thumb smears our mingled pre-cum around as he uses more force than usual to bring us closer.
“This. Isn’t. It.” He strokes us with each word. “I’m not giving up on us, so you don’t either.” He rests his head down on my shoulder as he watches his hand move.
“Blabbo, I…” I can’t help but thrust up in to his hand.
“Come for me, J.” I growl, and he smiles.
“That wasn’t a request.” My head falls back against the door as he pushes me over.
He follows, covering my chest with a mix of our cum.
He smears it around my fur and then places his hand in front of my face for me to lick it off.
“Such a good boy,” he coos, kissing my forehead again.
“This isn’t it,” he repeats one more time, then opens the door and heads out in the other direction for his part of the mission.
My job is to cause chaos. Easy enough. It’s what I’m best at.
It’ll also end up with every test subject being free at the end of the day, if everything goes well.
I wait in Blabbo’s holding room, looking out the window, waiting for one of the guards to pass by.
It felt like they were walking by constantly when I was alone in my room, but now that I need one, they’re all gone.
What if it’s because they’ve already found Blabbo?
I consider chasing after him, but decide I have to trust him and stick with the plan .
Finally, I hear whistling as a guard turns the corner. As soon as he’s directly in front of the door, I swing it open and yank him inside the room. Before he can grab his taser, I have him pinned to the ground, arm twisted behind his back.
I start removing items from his belt, moving any weapons and the walkie-talkie far out of reach. Don’t want him calling for backup. I tug off his keys. That’s what I really need.
“Okay, pal. I don’t really want to hurt you, but I’m pretty pissed off and don’t really not want to, either. When I get off you, you’re going to stand up and get in that cage. Nice and slow. Got it?” He whimpers as I tighten my hold on his arm. Not the most convincing, but it’ll have to do.
Slowly getting off of him, I allow him to stand. Once on his feet, he spins, trying to land a punch, but I’m faster, hitting him in the stomach and knocking the wind out of him. He's doubled over, gasping for breath .
“I told you. I am stronger and faster than you. You don’t want to do this. Now get in the fucking cage.”
He stands up and faces me again. I roll my eyes, shoving him hard against the bars of the cage, my arm pressed against his windpipe.
“Is this job worth dying over? Cuz getting out of here is to me. Get in the fucking cage.” There’s fear in his eyes now.
He nods, allowing me to unlock the cage.
He steps inside, and I lock him in. No way is he getting out of there, even with the bent bars.
Blabbo didn’t have to bend them as much as I did, given he’s so much thinner. “Was that so hard?”
I grab his walkie-talkie, keys, and anything else I think might be useful before I head out. Going room to room, I begin releasing every test subject I can find in the facility, instructing them to get outside.
