“We’re too late?” Roman actually sounded disappointed, but Ryder shook his head.

“You’re right on time.” He put his arms out for her. “Tabby, meet your baby brother.”

Tabby smiled as Roman carried her over to him. Once she was in his lap, she reached out, trying to touch her brother. It was like she knew to be gentle. Her small hand rubbed his cheek and she giggled. “Baeee,” she said in her cute, high voice.

“Yes, little girl, that’s your baby brother.” Ryder kissed her cheek.

“He’s beautiful,” Roman said.

“Thank you.” It was Jax who replied.

“What’s his name?” Roman looked between them. “Or don’t you know yet?”

Ryder looked at Jax, and his mate laughed. “It’s so crazy, but we really haven’t discussed it,” Ryder said. Sure they’d played around with some names but not seriously. Then it came to him.

“I have an idea,” Ryder said to his mate. “We don’t have to use it, though.”

Jax laughed. “I’m all ears then. What do you think?”

“So it means gift, and I saw it in the book we bought.”

“Spit it out already, babe.”

“What do you think of Theo?” For some reason, it felt right.

“Theo.” Jax tested the name. “Theo.” He started to smile. “I actually don’t hate that. Tabby and Theo.”

“You’ll get confused,” Roman warned. “You’ll be calling them the wrong name all the time. I swear, our parents would go through all our names before getting to the one they actually wanted to call.”

Jax looked into his eyes, and the depth of the love Ryder saw there stole his breath. “I think we should do it, though. Do you like the name, Tabby? Do you want to call your brother Theo?”

She smiled. “Tee.”

“Close enough, baby girl, close enough,” Jax said.

With that, they knew it was settled.

Ryder knew they would remember this day forever. He was glad they’d finally had their date, but he’d never dreamed it would end with the birth of their son.

It was the best night of his life, but he knew there was way more to come.

The End
