Page 96 of Haunted Nightmares

My gentle breeze is beautiful, a force to be reckoned with indeed, and as the scene before me goes dark around the edges, it repeats in my mind as I drop to my knees.

My goddess, my queen.

I fall back on my ass, barely aware of my surroundings.

My body temperature is dangerously low, the amount of blood I’m losing is high, and I don’t understandwhy.

I wasn’t shot, Hans’ blade was steel. My body is reacting as though I’ve been hit with a low dose of the super serum, working its way through my veins like ice until I feel it closing in on my heart.

“Zephyr,” I whisper as I fall to my knees.

She knows, she must, but if I could tell her I love her one more time, I could die a less prickish male.

I won’t get the chance.

Not with the way I drop to the ground, my head hitting the dirt so hard I briefly lose my sight and when it comes back, I’m worried that this really is the end.

“You dumb fuck,” an unfamiliar voice grunts over me, a stranger’s face blocking the moonlight and my ability to clearly see who the insult came from. “The one blade dipped in that serum, andyou, of all people, manage to get stabbed with it.Twice.”
