"You do?" I asked, surprised. "I thought you were terrified Noah would find out."
"It's one thing for Noah to think I'm perving on his little sister. This is different. I'm not just playing around."
My heart melted in my chest. The worry still wouldn't dissipate though.
"I don't know if Noah will see it that way," I said doubtfully. "He's still going to be really upset."
"You let me deal with Noah."
"I don't think you understand—"
"No, you don't understand." Cameron took me in his arms. "I don't care what your brother thinks. We're together now. I'll do anything to keep you."
Ever since that night at the concert, Cameron had been the one running away, terrified of my brother's reaction. I'd been the one who balked at Noah's restrictions, the one who wanted to live my life out from under my brother's thumb.
But now that Cameron and I were together, I had something to lose. I knew Noah wouldn't react well to this news. I didn't want Noah and Cameron to fight. I didn't want Noah to make me choose between them. And I didn't want Noah to force Cameron to leave the band.
Cameron had been right. This thing between us was probably not going to end well.
"I don't think we should tell anyone," I said.
The hurt on Cameron's face was evident.
"Yet," I hastened to add. "Not until I can figure out a way to tell Noah and not have him freak out."
Cameron reluctantly agreed.
"I'm going back out to supervise the party," he said after his shirt was back on. "Come with me?"
"I should probably try to do a bit more studying and then get some sleep." I fidgeted with the hem of my shirt. "How long do you think you'll be up?"
"My parties usually go 'til dawn."
"Oh." I had been hoping Cameron and I could fall asleep together. After what we'd just done, the idea of going to bed alone felt unbearable.
"I can shut the party down early." He stepped closed to me and pressed a kiss on my lips. "Will you give me an hour to empty out the place? Then we can go to bed together."
My heart went light with relief. "I'd love that. I want to fall asleep in your arms." I flushed when I realized how sappy I'd sounded.
"Fuck, you're so cute." Cameron kissed me again, desperate and heated, turning me into a writhing ball of need. He began to get hard again, his length pressing into my stomach.
We broke the kiss and panted into each other's mouths.
"You're fucking amazing, Angel." Cameron's voice was hoarse.
"Did anyone ever tell you that you swear a lot?" I teased.
He tensed, his eyes turning pained. I didn't know what I'd said wrong, but I sensed a shift in the mood.
"I like it when you swear," I continued, trying to repair whatever harm I'd caused. "It shows you're passionate."
Cameron relaxed. "You don't think it makes me sound uncivilized?"
"No. Especially when you call me Angel right after. I like that part."
"Then I'll call you Angel as often as possible."
Cameron pressed another quick kiss to my lips before leaving to round up the party guests and kick them out.
