Page 107 of Hard Rock Deceit
The kiss turned heated, wanton. I couldn't help the small rock of my hips against his knee. He urged me on with a hand against the small of my back. His own length was hardening against mystomach.
We lost ourselves in each other, basking in the togetherness, the feeling of things finally beingright.I moaned into his mouth, whimpering as his one hand moved to cup my breast under my shirt. I dug my nails into his upper arms, holding on forbalance.
My brain fogged over with desire, barely aware of my surroundings. I was seconds away from ripping off my shirt and unzipping hisjeans.
The kitchen doorflewopen.
"Don't know why you always have to besucha—"
"What? What exactly am I? Go on,sayit."
Damon and Faith stormed through the kitchen doors, yelling andfuming.
The four of us froze, still as statues, as we stared at eachother.
I slowly lowered my leg from where I'd wrapped it around August's hip. He removed his hands from underneath myshirt.
Faith's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Damon's look of agitation morphed into one of wickeddelight.
"Just couldn't wait until the party was over, hm?" heteased.
I groaned and thumped my head back against thefridge.
"You're going to make fun of me for the rest of time because of this, aren't you?" Iasked.
"Hell yeah." Hesmirked.
Faith whirled away, stomping back out into the dining room, not sayinganything.
"Problem?" Augustasked.
Damon shrugged. "Nah. I've got a handleonit."
"And what exactly isit?" I asked, wondering if I could get ammunitiononhim.
"I have no idea." Instead of his usual wicked grin, his face was lined with frustration. He flicked his eyes to the kitchen door where Faith had stomped out. "I'll let you know when I figure it out." With a long suffering expression, he left the kitchen, not even taking the time to continueteasingme.
"What was that about?" Iasked.
"Damon might have finally met his match." August tugged my shirt back into place and adjusted himself. "Better get back to the party before everyone realizes we snuck offtogether."
The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent chatting with friends and having a drink or two. I met some people from other bands, friendly acquaintances of August, but I couldn't remember any of their names. I just knew the dirty blond with wavy hair flopping over his forehead was even louder than Cameron, which I'd thoughtimpossible.
Finally, the party wound down as August's liquor cabinet became depleted and couples began discreetly disappearing inpairs.
"Thank you for the welcome home party," August told Cameron as he got ready toleave.
The bassist had his arm around his girlfriend Lily'swaist.
"Any excuse to party." The grin left Cameron's face, expression turning serious. "You really gonna be okay?" he asked, eyes questioning. "We don't want you to push yourselftoohard."
"I'm really okay," Augustreassuredhim.
Cameron examined him closely before nodding. He gave me onelasthug.
"Take care of him?" he whispered inmyear.
"I promise," Iwhisperedback.
