Everly
Holy fucking shit.
I was still trembling from the blissful ruin, my body aching in pleasure, tired and yet absolutely wired.
I was going to feel his Italian stallion for days.
And he was still inside of me.
Exactly where I needed him. Could we sleep like this? His cock a force between my thighs? Make up for lost time?
He said forever and I hated that my heart skipped a damn beat.
I’d always known he was well-endowed. I’d had his cock down my throat multiple times by now, but fuck, the way he’d torn me apart, talked me through it, thrown my dripping wet panties in my mouth.
I had not been prepared for the full Mendes experience.
But, damn, I wanted it again.
I shifted and felt him twitch inside of me.
“Don’t,” he said, his voice rough with sleep in my ear. “You’ll get me going again.”
I smirked and clenched around him, taking great pleasure in the way he grunted, his breath tickling my neck.
“Everly,” he warned.
I dragged my nails up his thigh behind me. And clenched again.
He wrapped his arms around my middle and pulled me closer, his cock hitting a spot in me that hitched my breath. “Fuck.”
“That’s what I thought,” he said and I could hear the smile in his voice. “Now let me cuddle you. I can’t go again for an hour or two.”
“So… in two hours…?”
“You can wake me up,” he said and kissed my neck.
He hadn’t kissed me even when we fucked. And that sliced deeper inside me than his cock did.
“Thanks, Captain Cockzilla.”
His laugh was a shocked, abrupt sound. “You’re insane.”
“Insanely stretched,” I sighed.
“I can—” He started to pull out and I gripped his arm.
“Nope. Keep Mister Mendes in there.”
His chest shook behind me and I would go with the cock nicknames until I died, just to get him to laugh.
“I could sell merch at the stalls instead of just your signed photos. ‘I survived Mendes XL.’ Or — oh my god — on my tours I need a top that says, ‘Ask me about the third leg of StormSprint’.”
There was ruffling as he pulled one of his pillows out from under his head and smacked me lightly in the face with it. “Insane.”
I hugged the new addition to my chest and smiled to myself.
The silence between us had never felt uncomfortable, but now it felt right.
He’d let slip the word ‘forever’.
I didn’t want to leave.
Even though I wouldn’t see him again for a month or two after the last race this weekend. I was being a big, brave girl by spending the break with my mum, pretty much straight after the last race.
It was time I faced things head on. If I truly wanted to be the best version of myself and grow into who I could become, I had to grab the opportunities in front of me.
Though I wasn’t quite capable of asking Luca to join me, even if I wanted to.
This was something I needed to do alone.
And just because we’d fucked once didn’t mean that we… that we were together or anything.
But that word was on the tip of my tongue. Forever.
There was just no way I could consider telling him how I felt, when he hadn’t told me everything.
And, in the spirit of being a big, brave girl, it was time to talk.
Not behind flirtation and sexual innuendo.
I slid forward, a tight breath through my teeth as he slipped free from me.
“Ever?”
“I saw the PI report.”
He was still behind me. His fingers stopped tracing circles across my hip.
“On your phone. Before the fight. My name was all over it.”
He sat up and I rolled over to look at his shocked expression. His mouth was open and he tried to speak, but I couldn’t listen to excuses.
“You’ve had this since then and I can’t understand why you would keep it from me. Do you… do you think I was in on it?”
His eyes widened. “No. No. Of course not—”
“But you didn’t tell me. I look responsible. You now have evidence that I was involved and… and if you want to get out of your contract…” I breathed in, forcing myself to say it. “If you want to get out of your contract, you have all the evidence you need to get my dad to let you go.”
His face fell. “Yes, but—”
So he’d thought it through too.
“Right.”
“ But I wouldn’t, because I couldn’t let you go!”
Silence consumed our room, his booming, broken voice leaving an echo that pulsed with my heartbeat.
He would let me go eventually. That was the whole purpose .
I cleared my throat. “When were you going to tell me? After you fucked me? After you were going to drop me?” And run into the sunset? “What have you done with the evidence?”
“I didn’t want to tell you,” he said and that felt like a slap to the face.
I was getting up, dragging the sheet with me, trying to find my clothes around the room.
“Because I didn’t want to upset you. Because I handled it. That document doesn’t exist anymore. It’s gone. There’s nothing to say it was you—”
“Because it wasn’t!” I roared. “It wasn’t me. It was him .”
I’d believed a lie for years.
I was naive and stupid and most definitely not mature for my age.
Maybe I was gullible here, too, thinking there could be something real when it had been built on fabrication.
I knew I wasn’t worthy of the happy ending, but god, I let myself dream of it and escape in it.
“I don’t need you to protect me either.”
“I didn’t want to tell you,” he said again. “But I was going to. I just needed to find the right moment— I needed to make sure you were okay.”
“I’m allowed to not be okay over this.” I’d somehow managed to put a baggy top on but I stopped short when I saw it was his. The one I’d worn in the hotel room when he’d walked in on me.
He was so intertwined in my life now. There would be a gaping hole if he ever left me.
“You are,” he agreed. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I know you weren’t involved. I wanted to make sure it was destroyed before I told you, I didn’t want to worry you. I’m so sorry, Everly.”
“You don’t need to filter the truth,” I said and sat beside him with a sigh. “I want you to think I’m strong enough to hear everything.”
“I do,” he said and brushed my hair back. “I swear, I do.”
“It hurt,” I admitted. “More than thinking he’d framed me, it was you keeping the truth from me.”
“Never,” he said and kissed my forehead. “I won’t hold anything back again.”
I let him wrap his arms around me as he told me all the details about the PI report and how he’d set the PI to find more details about Pedro’s case to compare. I let myself cuddle up to him until he fell asleep.
And then I rolled away from him.
