Present Day
I was up before the Rooster crowed – literally – working on preparing breakfast. The Almighty Alex was still curled up on his dog bed in the lounge room, and the others had yet to surface from our room. Our room… Too soon?
I had just fired up the portable grill when a gravelly voice interrupted the silence. I didn’t have to look to know who it belonged to, he was awake. This is it, the moment of truth…
“Well, good morning to you too, baby.” Teddy slowly closed the gap between us, his underwear hanging lazily off his hips, accentuating the line of hair that I knew led straight to his cock.
God he was gorgeous.
His smoky-green eyes danced as he moved closer to me, a devilish grin creeping over his lips.
As he leant into my space, it occurred to me that the last time we were in this spot was when he kissed me last night.
My thoughts were interrupted as I felt his breath on my tongue as he dipped his chin and pressed his lips to mine.
I opened my mouth for him instinctively, my hands reaching for his hips. I needed him closer.
“Morning,” I murmured with a grin. His hands brushed through my hair as he pulled away from our kiss, smiling at me.
“So… you want some help?” he asked.
“Yeah, can you find some eggs?” I laughed in reply.
I should probably mention now that I cannot cook to save my fucking life. I ate most of my meals at the pub, or whatever casserole-thing Mrs Hartford, our neighbour, dropped us.
Teddy shook his head and laughed as he said, “Why don’t we get our girl, go see how the place held up last night, and head into Maverick’s? I am sure Hannah’s cooking will shit on whatever the fuck you were gonna dish up.”
He was right. About both things. We needed to check on the property, and the local diner was well-renowned for its farm-to-table meals. Hannah and her family had been here almost as long as we had. I smiled in agreement and let him take my hand and guide me up the staircase to check on River.
