“Ready?” Sienna asks, pullin’ her phone back out. Minx nods her head eagerly. “One . . . two . . . three!”
We all pop our cannons and blue confetti goes everywhere.
“Yes!” Raze shouts, scooping Minx into a hug.
“Shit, two mini Razes runnin’ around? Look out world!” Rascal teases.
“Let’s all take a moment to pray y’all are havin’ a girl,” Raze says to him. “Because the last thing the world needs is a mini-Ras.”
“No shit,” Marley mumbles and Rascal glares at her.
“The fuck is that supposed to mean?” he asks.
“Do you remember what you were like when we first met?” she replies.
“Good point,” Rascal says, droppin’ the subject.
“Two grandsons,” I say to Minx, smilin’. “Double the trouble for sure. I can’t wait.”
“Congratulations to you both,” Athena says, huggin’ Minx. “I’m excited for you.”
Chapter Thirty-Eight
Bull
The cake was served while Minx and Raze opened their gifts. They got almost everything they need for the babies. But since no one knew they were havin’ twins; they still need some things. The prospects got put on cleanin’ duty while all the ladies, except for Athena, went inside to rest for the afternoon. For Athena and I, it’s time to head out to the barn and pay Kevin a visit.
I let Ranger and the guys have their fun with Miguel Torres, but they had to leave Kevin for us. I made sure they gave him the bare minimum to keep him alive. Athena needs to have the opportunity to get revenge if that’s what she needs for closure.
“Goddess, I need you to go change before we go to the barn,” I tell her.
“Into what?” she asks.
“Somethin’ you won’t care if it gets blood on it,” I reply.
Her eyes go as wide as saucers. “Are we . . .”
I nod my head. “Yup, go get changed.”
She hurries inside and Ranger takes the chance to come talk to me.
“You think she’s up for this?” he asks me.
“I think she needs this to get closure,” I tell him. I can’t say I’m not worried about how she’ll react to it all.
“Are you at least prepared for the aftermath?” He cocks an eyebrow at me.
“I can handle it,” I say. “I have some things planned to keep her mind off of it when it’s over.”
Both his eyebrows shoot up.
“Nothin’ like that, asshole.” I roll my eyes and he laughs.
“What’s so funny?” Athena asks when she walks outside.
“Ranger’s just bein’ a dumbass,” I tell her. “You ready?”
“Yup.” She pops the p. “At least, I think I am.”
