Page 10 of Finding His Way (The Protetors #5)
J eremy panted like he’d been running for hours, the clench of her pussy about his dick was a stroking he never would give up. He remained bent over her, her body pliant and submissive beneath his. Her heart pounded, echoing in his ears. Her short, sharp breaths mirrored his own.
He withdrew his fangs from her skin and swiped his tongue over the injuries to help aide in their healing. She would forever wear a mark, his mark.
Dianna turned to glance at him over her uninjured shoulder, face flushed and pleasure all over her expression. Her lips twitched as she held his gaze.
“God I needed that.” She licked her lips. “You’re still hard. Got another round in you?”
He smiled, lips curving up, as he thickened inside her. “For you, baby, I’ve got so many more.”
Curving a hand along her hip he held her tight, knowing he would leave bruising but not giving a damn. A sound reached him and he scowled.
“Not now though. My brothers return.”
She moaned low as he pulled out, muscles clenching like they were loath to allow him escape. For a moment he stared at her. Her on her hands and knees before him, naked on furs.
“I love seeing my cum slide out of your pussy.”
He reached out and scooped some up with two fingers before pushing it back inside her, then slipping his fingers against the globe of her ass, streaking the rich brown skin with a mixture of their pleasure.
“I like putting it all over your skin and filling you with it.” He bent down and kissed the base of her spine, dragging his tongue over her sweat dotted skin.
“Jeremy.”
She wriggled against him and he swore a thousand times as he pushed two fingers deep in her slit. His brothers were outside the cabin door and they would be walking through in seconds but he couldn’t get enough of this woman.
“Yes,” she purred, fingers curving into the pile of furs she knelt upon.
He didn’t care. Fisting his cock with his free hand, he pumped as he growled low. “Don’t you fucking come in here.”
“You better fucking come inside me.” She rode his hand. “Fucking put your cock in me and fuck me.”
Removing his fingers, coated in their mixed release, he held them to her lips and groaned when she sucked them deep into her mouth. Unable to resist any longer, he thrust deep inside her once more, eyes fluttering at the raw pleasure he received from her velvet heat encompassing his dick.
Macsen wouldn’t stop grinning as the four of them sat on the furs which was piled around the floor. Jeremy had Dianna tucked between his legs, her back flush to his chest. She was, once again dressed—more’s the pity—as was he.
“Stop grinning,” he snapped at his brother.
“Can’t help it.” There was absolutely no remorse in the man’s tone. “You’ve mated. And you look fucking happy.” A shrug. “As happy as you can, that is. And your mate is a kickass cop. I love this.”
Dianna chuckled against him but didn’t pull away nor did she argue his statement. He tightened his hold on her and rested his chin on her shoulder.
“As much as I love this family reunion for you lot, I’d like to get home make sure my family is fine and stop this fucker. So no more dodging, tell me who the fuck this Aleks is.”
Macsen winked. “Cop voice. So hot.”
He flashed fang at his sibling who merely laughed harder.
“My cop.”
“Boys,” Dianna reprimanded.
“Short answer,” Jeremy said drawing back a little so he didn’t break her as he thought about Aleks.
“Long, short, I don’t give a fuck. I want to know what we’re up against and what the plan is to take him down and get the hell out of dodge.” Dianna moved away from him and he yanked her right back.
“Stay.”
“Not a dog and let’s not forget,” she snapped turning back toward him. “It was me they took. Me they held in some small cold ass cell. Me they tossed icy water on outside once a week. Me who had that psycho choke and put his claws into me. You will not keep me out of this and if you’re correct that this has to do with my best friend, you’ve got a hell of a wakeup call coming if you think I’m sitting this one out.”
He narrowed his gaze and bent closer.
“You are my mate and I will protect you.”
His brothers watched, amusement on their faces. Even Vaughn’s lips curled up.
“This mate thing doesn’t have to be permanent.” Her words were snarled and he snapped.
He whipped his hand out and gripped the back of her neck, dragging her right back to him, so they were nose to nose. There were still lingering marks from the time she’d spent in captivity as well as the aftereffects of the car accident but none of that mattered. Her eyes sparked with defiance and stubbornness as she didn’t back down from his glare.
“You wear my mark. You. Are. Mine.”
His cat leaked into his tone as he snarled. The words weren’t truly words, more feral than anything but he realized the moment she spat that shit he refused to lose this woman. And her stating that scared the every living fuck out of him. He’d not ever wanted anyone to wield such power over him but this woman didn’t follow his rules. She had sauntered into his life and turned it on it’s head.
“And I’m no shrinking violet. This is literally my job. Hunting down people who do things like this. Who break the law. You and your magical dick can jump in a fucking lake if you think I’m not going to be part of this.”
“You’re human.” Claws slid from his fingertips and settled against her neck.
She didn’t so much as flinch. “And a cop.”
“I could lock you away.”
Her gaze sharpened and he heard the swift intake of Macsen and Vaughn’s breath. Yeah, they felt the shift in the air as well. And it came from the woman nose to nose with him.
“You could.” A slow breath. “You won’t.”
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“Because you don’t want to spend the rest of your life looking over your shoulder.” She swallowed and reached out, settling her hand on his cheek. “I know you want to protect me, Jeremy. I get that. I’m not Jo and I’m not Emily. I don’t need it. I spent my life running toward danger. And I will always protect my family. Him looking after Lando and by association Selena, that’s putting my family in danger.”
“Someone’s coming.”
Vaughn and Macsen rose in one fluid motion, each stepping toward the door each taking a side.
“You’re still injured.”
She nodded. “I am. My wrist is probably broken and you fucking me like you did probably wasn’t helpful but I didn’t care. Just like I don’t care now. Give me a fucking weapon and let’s end this shit so I can go home.”
He relaxed his hand on her neck. Dragging her nails down the scruff of his face, she leaned in close and kissed him. Pushed her tongue into his mouth and stroked it against his.
“I want a gun.”
Vaughn growled low and Jeremy moved, instantly putting himself between her and the door. Behind him, he felt her get to her feet and thankfully she didn’t step out.
“Here.” Macsen pulled a SIG from the waistband of his pants and tossed it to him, after snatching it from the air he handed it to the woman behind him.
“It’s a good start,” she muttered.
His lips quirked despite the seriousness of the situation. The window crashed in, bringing icy wind and snow. But not a body, only large chunks of ice.
“Get ready.”
Jeremy listened and scented the freezing air. He knew his brother’s had a bead on everything and everyone as well so he didn’t need to update them. But his woman, another story entirely.
“Cabin’s surrounded, at least fifteen men could be more that we’re not hearing yet.”
She shifted and he frowned even as he stole a look to see what she was doing. They were back to back.
Admiration for her grew and he reached between then and patted her on the ass. He got a low chuckle for his action.
“Focus. Now is not the time to play with my ass.”
“Disagree mate. There is always time to play with that fine ass of yours.”
He reached out with his senses, trying to find where the closest people were coming from. They were human, he didn’t pick up on shifters. Of course, knowing Aleks, this was simply the first wave.
The sound hit his ears seconds before the smell found his nose. Fire.
His brothers stiffened and he knew they got the scent as well. Scanning the building, not that there was a lot, he grunted and gestured to the right with his head when Mascen looked at him.
The loose floorboard may be a way out. His brother moved toward it however, before he got there the floor exploded up and amongst the shards of wood he saw a figure. Fangs fully extended, he gathered to toss himself at the intruder when three shots blew by him, lodging into his chest, slamming the man against the far wall.
She moved beside him. “Focus on you, shifter. I can take care of myself. I have no wish to tell Lando you died on my watch.”
Yeah, it was entirely possible he fell in love with her in that moment. He heard the low approvals from both his brothers in that next second.
His brothers had met the men coming in the door and window but then he had to face the men who had just blown a hole in the back wall of the cabin. Pissed, he allowed his cat to take over and he ripped through those men in tactical gear who were breaching the cabin they’d set on fire.
Definitely a suicide mission.
He roared in anger as another slammed into him, taking him down to the frozen ground. Razor sharp claws already out, he sliced up, easily making it through the body armor the man wore. Blood covered his hand as he continued up, disemboweling him as he went.
Another approached from his right and without releasing the one he tore into at the moment, he wrapped a hand around the throat of the idiot coming right at him. The slug tore into his shoulder and he jerked before severing the man’s head from his body.
Aleks.
His scent intermingled in the swirling air and instantly, Jeremy locked onto Dianna. She wasn’t in the middle but she wasn’t shying away from the fight either. He saw a stack of automatic rifles by her feet and approved, her injured hand an issue but she wasn’t letting it keep her on the sidelines. No, she was shooting those trying to kill them, no wasted ammunition, no crazy shots.
Cold. Methodical.
Like him the second he spied Aleks stalking toward her. Shifting instantly, his cat in full rage, he met the rushing bear head on.
