Page 56 of Fighting for His Own

"See, I told you, baby. We fight for our own."

I think I finally believed that.

I turned in Rad's arms and leaned up to give him a kiss, but before our lips could meet I heard a loud cry echo through the house.

"Damn it, Val," Ze'ev shouted from the living room. "Gag him if you're going to keep biting him."

I tucked in my lips to keep from laughing, but a small spurt escaped anyway. I so didn't want to know what Val was doing to William. The man had been protesting left and right that he wasn't Val's mate, but he never tried to escape and he slept in Val's room every night.

Didn't seem he was protesting too much.

"What happened to Emma?" She had disappeared along with Elder Payne.

"I believe she was taken to council headquarters to be interviewed. They also wanted to impress upon her the consequences of blabbing about shifters."

"Oh," I started, "after what she did to Jackson, I hope she blabs."

Rad chuckled as he stared down at me. "How did I not know you were so bloodthirsty?"

I gave Rad a shove, sending him sprawling onto our bed. "I'll show you bloodthirsty," I said right before I pounced.
