“And it would seem you had an inkling a vision was coming. That’s why you shoved back and shifted so fast.”

She nodded. “Yes. Were you mad?”

“No, Baby girl. I will never get mad at you for managing the visions any way you need to. I recognize it’s safer for you to shift when you feel one coming on. You don’t need to explain yourself to me. Do what you need to do and fill me in as soon as it’s safe to do so.”

She threw her arms around him and hugged him tight. “Thank you, Daddy. You’re the bestest Daddy in the world.” She leaned back and grinned at him. “Guess what else I can do when I’m shifted?”

His brows came together. “Goodness, there’s more?”

She giggled. “I can pee in the woods. You don’t have to hold me up. It’s almost like having some privacy to do my business.”

He laughed. “Perfect, but don’t start asking me if you can shift and go outside every time you want to pee. The answer will be no.”

She sighed and bit her lip. She needed to tell him one more thing. “Also…”

He rolled his eyes. “Heavens. What else?”

“I’m fast.”

He frowned. “Fast?”

“Yeah, like really fast. I can run faster than you, and I had an adrenaline rush when those bears arrived and lurched forward with incredible speed.”

He smiled at her. “I noticed that last part. How do you know you can run faster?”

“I was holding back,” she admitted.

He chuckled before leaning her back farther. “You are so full of surprises. Just so we’re clear, my rules only ease when you have a vision, understood?”

“Yes, Sir.”

“Your wolf is extremely dominant. It’s going to be an adjustment for Alpha Protectors to trust your judgement and allow you to step in when necessary. I do not ever want you in harm’s way, though. You were pushing the limit out there this evening. You got lucky when those bears backed down and ran off, but I will not have you entering a skirmish.” He gave her a pointed look.

“Okay, Daddy, but just in case, I think it would be helpful if you trained me on how to defend myself.”

“I agree, Little one. I think it’s high time we held some defense classes for all of our mates. Olivia could definitely use some advanced skills, but the others would benefit as well. I’ll be talking to Damon, Arion, Brock, and Elias first thing tomorrow about ensuring all our mates are prepared for an attack of any sort.”

Khloe beamed. “Thank you, Daddy.”

He gave her a pointed look. “At all other times, you will submit to me. No exceptions. I’m not an unreasonable Alpha. Igrasp the importance of your gift. But when you’re not actively engaged in keeping track of everyone in the vicinity, you will obey my rules.”

She nodded without hesitation. “Maybe I could stand up and resume walking, though, now that we know I can shift if it’s ever necessary.”

He wasn’t ready to take that risk yet. “Not yet, Baby girl. Let’s see what happens in the coming days first. I’d like to prove that theory several more times before I consent to such a specific safety hazard. For now, you will stay on your bottom or hands and knees. Besides…” He tickled her to lighten the mood, “…If you happened to be standing in a spot with tight quarters, your wolf wouldn’t even fit.”

She giggled. “Daddy, that’s silly.”

“Is it?” He lifted a brow, smiling but also serious. “Do you think you could fit in the bathroom?”

She sighed. “Probably not.”

“Then my rule stands for now.”

“Okay.” Her shoulders lowered, and she gripped his neck. He could tell she wanted to say something else, but she hesitated before finally speaking. “Maybe you could enforce a few of your rules right now?” She set the back of her hand across her forehead in an odd dramatic swoon.

Felix stared at her, uncertain what her game was.

Khloe rolled her eyes. “Daddy, take me to bed, strip me naked, and have your way with me. I need you.”
