Page 41 of Falling for the Bombshell (Falling for #1)
One whole year of memories. Photos, inside jokes, ticket stubs, game day wristbands, Starbucks napkins with silly notes— everything that made up their love.
Each page had a reason why she loved him.
Why she was choosing him. Why she couldn ’ t wait to become Mrs. Austin.
She took one last deep breath and snapped the binder closed.
On top, in gold foil letters, she had embossed the words: “ For my forever.” Her mom and sister arrived just as she was zipping the final bag.
They hugged her like she was made of glass, and all piled into the car, heading for the salon.
The nerves were already turning into sparkles. Linnie was getting married.
Meanwhile, Blaine came home to the quiet hum of the fridge and the barking welcome of Daisy.
He tossed his hoodie on the couch and wandered into the kitchen—only to stop in his tracks.
The binder. He picked it up with both hands, flipping open the cover.
Within seconds, tears blurred his vision.
There he was, page after page, through her eyes—their first dance in the snow, late-night takeout, road trips to Boise, the Broncos games, every shared laugh, every hard day overcome.
He sat down at the table and just cried. Happy tears. Grateful tears.
God, she really loves me.
When Chase and the guys showed up to help him get ready, they found him wiping his face with the sleeve of his flannel, the binder still open beside him.
"You good?" Chase asked.
Blaine grinned through watery eyes. “ I'm marrying the best damn woman in the world, man. Let ’ s do this.”
As they started to leave for DanWalt Gardens, a gentle drizzle began to fall.
“ There was no rain in the forecast,” Blaine muttered, checking the radar again on his phone. “ No rain!”
He paced the living room once, twice. “ What if the flowers get ruined? What if she gets wet?”
Logan clapped a hand on his shoulder. “ Rain is good luck. She's going to look beautiful, wet hair or not.”
Across town, Linnie was putting the final bobby pins in her hair while Bria, Sadie, Brittany, and her mom stood back in awe.
“ She looks like a fairy tale,” her mom whispered.
Linnie peeked out the salon window as the first drops of rain kissed the sidewalk. Her stomach dipped—but she smiled.
“ Blaine ’ s going to freak out.”
They were nearly at DanWalt Gardens when it started sprinkling in earnest. Linnie held her dress up and scurried from the car to the bridal suite with the help of a dozen hands and umbrellas.
The rain fell soft and steady, making the green grass brighter, the flowers deeper in color, and the whole garden smell alive and enchanted.
Photos were taken quickly, her girls laughing and adjusting makeup while the photographer snapped magic under moody skies.
Blaine arrived soon after with his guys, looking sharp in his custom suit, the orange and navy boutonnière pinned perfectly.
Linnie caught a glimpse of him through the window as he walked the path between the flower beds to the altar, flanked by his mom and dad.
There ’ s my forever.
The seats were filling. The music was starting. Rain be damned, nothing could dim the magic of this moment. Blaine stood under the arbor, the garden behind him lush and vibrant in the rain ’ s kiss, heart racing as he waited.
And then— It was time.
