Page 12 of Falling For Lucky
“Troy, you can’t do that. You have a life. You don’t want to drag a broken woman and her babies with you,” I tell him shaking my head.
“I lost you once, Lucky! I will not lose you again for any reason. I fucking love you and those babies because they are a part of you. I want and need to keep you safe. One of the ways to make sure you are safe is to make sure I can be with you and them. Due to me being in the military the best way to do that is make sure you can’t run away,” Troy states in a way that tells me arguing.
“You love me?”
“Silly woman. I love you so fucking much that I’ve not ever been able to shake the hold you have on my heart. I don’t want to go another day without you by my side. Five days to plan a wedding.” He says just as there is a knock on the door.
“You go get dressed. I’ll take care of the babies and see who is at the door. It should be my buddy from the police station, Troy kisses me hard on the lips and slaps my ass as I walk away.
Looking at myself in the mirror brushing my hair to cover the bruising on my face. Deciding I can’t do any more than I have, I start down the hall. The sound of Troy’s voice and the babies’ laughter makes my heart happy and full.
Who would’ve ever thought that in running from my past I would find my future?

Lucky
Fifteen Years Later
Walking through the door I look around seeing that nothing has really changed in the fifteen years since I was last here. The bar has traditional green clovers, buckets of gold, and leprechauns everywhere. St. Parick’s day is tomorrow, and Khloi has gone all out in making sure you don’t forget it. I jump when Troy wraps his arms around me from behind.
“You, okay?” Troy asks and I can tell he is hiding his grin.
“You are such an ass. One day when you sneak up on me, I’ll have a heart attack,” I tell him just before elbowing him in the gut.
Troy spins me around sealing his lips to mine in front of everyone in the bar. They hoot and holler from around the bar causing me to break the kiss laughing. I look over to see our teenagers pretending to gag. Troy’s sister and Ghost are glaring at each other from across the bar. I wonder what’s going on there. Khloi is standing beside LJ and Lily smiling wide.
I go to Khloi pulling her into a tight hug, “I’ve missed you so damn much. You’ve done amazing with this place.”
“Woman, we both know that if Mr. Donvan saw this place like this he would lose his mind,” Khloi sassies and we both laugh because she is not wrong.
It’s been fifteen years since the last time I was able to bring myself back to this bar. I haven’t been back since the night I was attacked. Troy wasn’t kidding when he said I had five days to get ready to get married because exactly five days from that day I walked down the aisle to the man that I had loved since I was too young to truly know what that meant.
My monster had disappeared after the night Troy and Ghost saved me. I thought he was truly gone until one night he was caught trying to break into our home. He was arrested and come to find out he had several warrants that ended up with him serving a lot of time in federal prison.
The twins have never known anyone being their dad but Troy. That man fell in love with the twins and has loved, played with, been completely pissed at, and every other emotion that comes with raising twins. Never once second-guessing his choice to choose us.
I look out over the crowd here to celebrate St. Patrick’s day and our fifteen-year anniversary and the tears fall.
“Baby, what’s wrong. Why are you crying?” Troy asks sweeping me off my feet.
“Tears of happiness. These are tears of pure happiness,” I tell him kissing up his neck to his ear.
“Have you ever seen the employee lounge here?” I whisper.
We may have been together for fifteen years, but I still crave this man like I did our first night together.
“I don’t think I have. Why don’t you point me in that direction?” he growls.
I point in the direction of the employee lounge never stopping my assault on his neck. We make it to the lounge and Troy slides me down his still rock-hard body making my pussy so damn wet. He pins me to the wall rubbing soft circles on my hips where my shirt slid up.
“I love you, my Lucky Charm. I’ll love and protect you until my last breath,” he says cupping my cheek.
“I love you with all that I am,” I whisper wrapping my arms around his neck.
The fire in his eye’s flares to an inferno engulfing me. I go up on my toes bringing his mouth to mine and nip his bottom lip. This unleashes the beast inside.
I could see celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and Fifteen years together than being loved by this man.
