Page 61 of Fallen Heir
My mouth moved over her with purpose, tongue sliding through the slick warmth of her release. I licked and sucked like it was the only thing I’d ever wanted. Like I’d been starving for it. For her. For this.
Sweet. Addictive. Fucking heaven.
Her hips started moving again—needier now, chasing something she was too breathless to ask for. Her fingers tangled in my hair, moans slipping from her lips, each one louder, rougher, more unguarded.
I couldn’t stop. Wouldn’t. I needed more. I needed all of her.
And then—she came undone.
Her thighs tensed around my shoulders, her body arching off the wall as she came, hard, into my mouth. Her nails dragged across my scalp, and she rode the wave, breathless and broken and beautiful in her undoing. The sounds she made ruining me more.
Mine.
The word echoed in my head like a vow.
When her breathing finally slowed, when the tremble in her legs began to still, I pressed a kiss to the inside of her thigh—gentle. Reverent.
Then I stood.
I smoothed the fabric of her dress back into place, adjusting it carefully like it was made of glass. Her cheeks were flushed, lips parted, eyes still dazed.
I kissed her once softly, slowly, just our mouths breathing against each other—and then pulled back. “The ladies’ room is right across the hall,” I murmured, brushing a loose strand of hairfrom her cheek. “I’ll be waiting for you… just outside the hallway.”
And then I left—Before I did something even more dangerous.
Before I told her the truth clawing up my throat.
Before I confessed how well I’d known her mother.
Before I told her everything she didn’t know about her parents—and the promises I’d made to protect her, even if it meant lying to her face.
Chapter 21
Savannah
The second the door clicked shut behind me, I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. My legs still trembled. My lips were swollen. My body buzzed from the inside out like every nerve had been struck alive. I stumbled toward the mirror, catching my reflection in the soft overhead light.
I looked…Flushed. Disheveled.
Alive.
I grabbed a cloth from the counter and dabbed it around my mouth, my jaw, my neck—anywhere his lips had been. Not to erase the memory. I could never do that. Just to help mebreathe. Because I wasn’t sure I could yet.
What the hell just happened?
I blinked at myself. My makeup was barely smudged, but everything underneath it had shifted. Something inside me had changed.I’d trusted him.Not just with my body—but with my scars. My truths. And he still hadn’t flinched. Once again, he hadn’t looked at me like I was broken. He looked at me like I was his.
A soft, shaky smile tugged at my lips. I leaned over the sink, splashing cold water on my wrists, hoping it would cool the heat still coiling low in my stomach. I could stillfeelhim. The way he touched me. The way he tasted me. The way he looked at me like nothing else existed.
I heard the doorknob turn.
“I thought you said you wouldn’t fuck me here,” I murmured, smiling as I kept my eyes on the sink.
But no one answered.
Slowly, I lifted my head, eyes rising to the mirror with a soft, lingering smile still tugging at my lips—until I saw him. And just like that, my blood turned to ice. It wasn’t Jaxson.
Alex.
