THE ALPHA’S SIGMA

Alek

Aria trotted along beside Alek as they headed back to their rooms. Her hand gripped his tightly, and she kept glancing up at him with a worried expression.

“What?” he finally asked, looking down at her. His head and heart were in turmoil—the revelations from watching Paldon and the Wolf negotiate had stunned him. And as grateful as he was to Carina, it wasn’t the same as hugging his own mother. He felt incredibly envious of Bella. Angry that he hadn’t gotten the same opportunity. Logic said he shouldn’t have expected it… and he hadn’t, but emotions weren’t easily logicked away.

“I’m worried about you,” Aria stated baldly. “Are you going to going to try to warn your father?”

Alek came to a halt, blinking in surprise because it wasn’t until Aria asked the question that he realized he’d barely thought about his father.

What kind of son did that make him?

Yet he felt more guilt over not feeling guilt than he did over knowing his father was likely going to be assassinated soon. He tried to dredge up some kind of caring. Some kind of anger or sadness. The most he felt was faint regret… He should feel more than that about the upcoming death of his father, yet having learned everything his father had done, realizing what kind of male his father was… for the first time, he felt like he wasn’t duty bound to him.

Duty appeared to be all he had connecting him.

But he did worry about his mother.

“No, I’m not,” he said quietly. “He is my father, and there is a part of me that loves him, or at least like I should love him, yet I’ve only been concerned about my mother.”

Studying his face, Aria gave his hand a little squeeze. “Cora will make sure your mother has the opportunity to join you.”

But would she? Would she be like Carina and want to come to the territories? Or would she want to stay in Zone One with her friends and her influence? Alek suddenly felt very, very tired, not sure of the answer.

All he knew for sure was he couldn’t go back.

“I hope so,” he finally replied and started walking again.

When they reached the rooms, Cora and Trace were waiting for them in the front room. Well… waiting in a manner of speaking.

The door slid open, and Alek’s cock went fully erect when he saw the Alpha pair on the couch, naked, Cora atop Trace’s lap. His huge cock was buried in her pussy, the bulge of his knot visible as she moved up and down—Alek realized she might not be able to accommodate it the way Aria and he could.

The pair looked up, and Cora smiled, reaching her hand out toward Alek and Aria.

Aria immediately moved forward, stripping off her clothes as she went, leaving a trail between the door and the couch. Following more slowly, Alek stepped through the door, letting it swish shut behind him. Heat fizzed through his blood at the sound of Trace and Cora’s combined purrs as Aria knelt beside them, moving in to kiss Cora, shattering his thoughts and his melancholy.

The sweet scent of Aria’s arousal merged with Trace’s and Cora’s, making him want to groan as his pulse pounded through him. The urge for distraction, for touch, for pleasure surged. Watching the interview had been difficult. He wanted to lose himself in his body, his senses… and they wanted to help him.

Abandoning any reluctance, he moved forward, following Aria’s example, to join them on the couch.

They all reached for him, pulling him in, making him part of their pleasure.

Slick bodies moved against each other, mouths and tongues trading places.

At one point, he was buried inside Aria as she bounced atop him, much like Cora on Trace when they’d first walked in, his knot expanding as her Omega pussy sucked him in and squeezed, sending his Alpha side into pure ecstasy. At another point, he fisted his cock, moving his hand up and down as he watched Trace plow into Aria from behind, her mouth buried in Cora’s pussy. Then he was between the two Alphas, Cora’s pussy clamping down around him while Trace thrust into his ass, forcing his knot past the straining entrance.

Caught between them, a Sigma trapped between two Alphas, he cried out helplessly as they used him with delicious abandon. His body pulsed, shuddering and cumming over and over, caught in the maelstrom of their lust until he couldn’t take anymore, and then still they used him.

The shower they took afterward truly was just for getting clean, as they were all utterly spent. Alek groaned as he fell onto the bed, his muscles feeling watery, his cock and ass sore from use. Yet he felt… good. Satisfied. As if he was exactly where he wanted to be, where he was supposed to be.

“We’ll be moving on to Riversong tomorrow,” Cora murmured as she climbed into the bed beside him. Aria was on his other side, Trace lying down beside her, so the two Alphas were on the outside. Cora’s fingers traced a line down the center of Alek’s back. “Once we are there, I will send for your mother.”

“Thank you.” He felt himself relaxing as Cora’s finger began to trace little circles across his back. Since he was facing Aria, when he opened his eyes, he saw her smiling back at him as if to say, I told you so.

Returning her smile, he allowed himself to relax further, falling into slumber.

Grigori

Cleaning up after bodies was a messy business, but these, in particular, he did not want traced back to him. Kennet and Liana’s parents were too powerful. Too well connected. They might complain to Paldon.

Though right now, Grigori was considering getting Paldon out of his way, too.

Did the male truly have any use left?

Without him, there would be a vacuum. The question was whether or not Grigori would be able to fill it.

Quite a few of the upper echelon of Zone One seemed disturbed by their leader’s disappearance. Others had brushed Grigori off, impatient with his presence. He’d made a mental note of each and every one of them. Sooner or later—though probably sooner—they’d regret not taking him seriously.

Having disposed of the bodies, Grigori made his way back to his dwelling through the side streets, thinking dark thoughts. Wondering where Paldon was. Wondering if he should make his move now while the leader was still absent.

But then he might never find out where Paldon had been and what he’d been up to.

Grigori was still cursing the ineptness of his spies when he turned onto his own street and saw two of Paldon’s guards there waiting for him.

Blast the male. He must have returned as suddenly as he’d left. Well, at least now Grigori might be able to find out what the hell was going on.

Stalking down the street, he felt gratified when the two guards spotted him and immediately straightened, squaring their shoulders and lifting their chins before bobbing them down in greeting as he approached. Despite being shut out of whatever Paldon was up to now, Grigori still commanded respect from the male’s guards.

“Is Paldon in there?” he asked, jabbing his finger toward his front door.

“No, sir, the First requests that you come to meet him. Now.” Despite the male’s respectful tone, it was clear this was an order and not a request.

Gritting his teeth in frustration, Grigori narrowed his eyes, even as a spark of fear flitted through him. Liana and Kenet’s parents shouldn’t have already noticed their children were missing. The two were constantly off gallivanting together these days. They’d been in the middle of fucking in a rented house when he’d caught up with them.

No, it couldn’t have anything to do with them.

There were a few bodies on his hands now, though. More in the past week than there had been in the past ten years. At least, that could be directly traced back to him. There had been quite a few more than that, but not done by his hands, only at his command.

The urge to establish his own power by making Paldon wait warred with his urge to discover where the First had been. The need for knowledge won out. Without knowing where Paldon had been, what he’d been doing, Grigori couldn’t be sure what the next best move would be.

He needed to talk to Paldon first, then he’d be able to decide whether or not to take the male out… and how.

“Very well. Let’s go.” Grigori swept his hand out, gesturing for them to move aside. Walking through them, he stalked down the street, his mind already turning. The fact that Paldon wanted to see him immediately probably meant he wanted advice.

Foolish male.

He should have brought Grigori with him or informed him ahead of time about what he was doing if he wanted Grigori’s thoughts on the matter. They were going to have a very frank discussion about what Paldon should and should not do. Then Grigori would decide whether or not it mattered what Paldon did or if he should just finally remove the male from his position.
