“I’m pregnant,” I blurt the words without thinking about them and then I immediately slap my hands over my mouth.

Jared freezes as his eyes go wide and round. He looks down my body with a look on his face like he’s expecting my belly to grow right in front of his eyes. It’s hilarious. Or, at least it could be if he were breathing and didn’t look terrified.

Something snaps into place inside of him and he drops down to his knees. “You’re pregnant,” he breathes out as he puts his hands over my still flat belly.

The hope in his eyes as he looks up at me undoes me. I nod slowly and murmur, “I am. I took a test and then went to the doctor to confirm.”

“You didn’t get an ultrasound yet, did you?” He pouts, clearly put out at the idea of missing something so big.

“No,” I promise, “I just had then confirm my pregnancy and got in the system. No ultrasound yet.”

He breathes out, relief written all over his face, as his eyes move down to my belly. When he kisses me there, I melt.

He whispers, “Hi little one. I’m your Daddy. I already love you so much and I can’t wait to meet you.”

Jared stands up slowly, his arms wrapping around me before he lifts me into his arms and carries me toward the bedroom. I almost giggle but hold it back as I look at him seriously.

“Where are you taking me?”

Jared smirks, “I’m taking you to celebrate our family expanding. Naked.”

I bark out a laugh, my head going back and happiness washing over me.

“I love you,” I murmur as I rest my head against my man’s shoulder.

“I love you, Carson, so damn much.”
