“Oh.” Her voice was soft. “Okay.”

Aaron grinned in triumph and lowered his head, kissing her softly. Evie felt a shiver run up her spine as he ran his tongueover her lower lip, and she parted her lips, letting him in. He groaned at the taste of her, his hand rising to cup her cheek. After a minute or so, he pulled back.

“Be my girlfriend.”

“What?” Evie’s brain was still trying to make sense of the kiss, and she struggled to focus on his words.

“I’ve been falling for you for six months. I want to be with you.” He kissed her again. “I’ve fallen in love with you.”

Love? Evie’s eyes widened. He was in love with her? “Aaron, I…” She didn’t know what to say.

“I know this is coming out of left field, and you probably don’t know how you feel about me. That’s okay.” His voice was steady, reassuring. “I wasn’t going to tell you that yet, but it’s out there now, and I don’t care. I’m glad you know. But please give me a chance and be my girlfriend.”

“Can we start with dating?” Evie’s head was swimming. He was kissing along her jaw and toward her neck, and she felt heat bloom low in her stomach.

“Date?” He pulled back to look into her eyes. “What, like movies and stuff? Cause we’ve been doing that for months.”

“I wasn’t aware they were dates.” She grinned, teasing him.

“Brat.” He muttered it against her mouth as he kissed her again.
