“And after that?”
“I thought he could do some amateur fights. Before he started getting his head straight, he was in bar fights almost every night. His ego got in his way, and instead of walking away, he decided to fight. Let him do that. Sasha lives in Ohio. She should be the next stop. And let her brother or a friend have a shot at Memphis,” Sal says
“Ohio next. And then where?” Natalie writes Ohio down.
“Rachel lives in Illinois. I should make amends with her,” I say and Natalie writes it down.
“Suzie in Kansas.”
“Nora in Nebraska.”
“Zoe in Colorado.”
“Are all of these stops women from the show?”
“I have some that weren’t on the show.”
“We should do those as well. And I’m going to schedule a few daytime shows where you can talk about this adventure.”
We all laugh because it’s not an adventure.
“Get some sleep.” Natalie heads to bed.
“I can’t wait for this.” Brick laughs as he heads out. Ariel is waiting for him.
I sit there for a few minutes, hoping this will change my life as well as the lives of others.
“She’s good,” I hear Sal from the door.
“She is.”
“I want to help.”
“You fired me or dropped me, I’m not sure how that works.”
“I heard your idea and I think I can help. I have contacts that Natalie doesn’t have.”
“I’d like that.”
“And at the end of all this, I’ll tell you where Ever is.”
“What do you mean where she is?” I wheel around in my seat.
“She’s going to pursue her dreams.” I hate how his answers are so cryptic.
“I hope they come true.”
“I think they will.” He winks before heading out. Weirdo.
This could turn out great or could be a disaster. Tomorrow won’t be so bad. Not sure about the rest of the stops.
But this isn’t about me. This is about making things right with people that I’ve harmed in one way or another. Time to adult.
