She threw her head back and moaned as her pleasure climbed higher and higher until she erupted.
Her grip tightened while I watched her lustful expression as she spasmed against my face, her pussy squirting her juices against my mouth. I didn’t stop lapping her until the contractions stopped and she relaxed into the mattress again.
My cock throbbed against my jeans while I watched her breathing slowly return to normal. She wore a blissful expression, her hazy eyes on me.
As she smiled, her hooded eyes closing fully as sleep pulled her under, my phone vibrated.
Unknown: Meet me at the Palermo docks.
My mother was the first person to abandon me and my brother. She was also the first person who’d tried to take our lives.
It didn’t break us, but it certainly set a precedent. It was no wonder I’d turned out slightly fucked up.
May the bitch never find peace, even in the depths of hell.
The orange glow of the burning cigarette in the familiar, beaten-down Bronco was the only flicker of life on this December night. The windows were rolled halfway down, cigarette smoke drifting out into the cold, moonless night.
I reached for my own cigarette but didn’t light it. I’d been trying to quit ever since Penelope’s comment. I didn’t want to claim any habits she despised.
Lightning flashed in the sky for a brief moment, giving me a glimpse of the man’s profile before his face was once again shrouded by darkness.
He rolled the window all the way down and I watched him toss his cigarette, the ember no longer illuminating the space between us.
He spotted me from the shadows of his car. I got out of mine and made my way over, discarding the unlit cigarette.
His beady eyes watched me as I came to stand beside his hunk of junk.
“What the fuck do you want?” I growled.
“I haven’t seen any wedding announcements,” was his answer as he dragged in a lungful of air.
“Nor will you,” I deadpanned. “The ceremony is on Christmas, and it’s open to immediate family only.”
He smiled, flashing me a full set of white teeth. “I’m family.”
I sneered. “No, you’re not.”
“Should I draw you a family tree?” he offered with that antagonizing smile that set me on edge.
“No need,” I gritted, wishing I’d killed Diana Bergmanbeforeshe had a chance to talk to this fucker. “Although,Atticus, Iwonder what Aunt Athena would say if she knew about your business endeavors into organ trafficking.”
Atticus Popov was scum, an opportunist of the worst sort. It was a miracle his children had turned out to be decent human beings. Aunt Athena was one of them, and she’d married my uncle.
He reached for the key in the ignition, and the engine hummed to life like a cough of an old woman.
“Keep her out of this.”
Ah, I finally hit a nerve. “Do the same with the DiMauros and we won’t have a problem.”
He put the car in drive and sped away, leaving me contemplating how much longer it would take for everything to implode.

PENELOPE
“Mia anima.”
My head felt heavy and my body tingled with sweet exhaustion, and I didn’t need to think too hard about why I felt this way. Deep down I knew. I could sense him, his musky scent all around me.
