Hayden leaned up on his elbow and asked, “Who was who?”

“I need to talk to my brother. Is it too early to text him?” I asked eagerly and looked at the clock.

The time showed just after seven and Hayden yawned before responding, “I’m sure he’s up with the baby. Are you sure it can’t wait until the festival?”

Me: Are you and Devlin available to meet this morning?

James: Is everything okay?

James: No Hayden?

Me: Not this time. 8:30?

James: Third floor. You have the code.

Hayden looked at me and I smiled. “I’m going to meet them at eight-thirty, then I can meet you at the cabin.”

“Do you want me to come with you?” he asked, and I leaned over, the tears stopped and the elation growing. If I was right, my entire life made more sense to me.

“No. I need to talk to them about something, but I promise, I’ll tell you as soon as I’m comfortable. Deal?”

“Deal. So, I have you for another hour?” he asked, lifted his eyebrow, and licked his kissable lips.
