EPILOGUE
I t had been two weeks since the fight with the Brollachan, and Bridget had moved into the mansion. Marge had protested loudly until Cosimo had arrived for tea, and Bridget had promised to still do a few shifts a week.
Bridget was spending her current afternoon melting with pleasure. They had been studying in the library when she had been thrown over Bas’s shoulder and carried back upstairs.
Bridget shifted against the sheets, her body starting to burn with desire. The need to fuck Bas was brought on in urgent and unpredictable moments. She didn’t know if it was a dragon mating thing or just Bas, and she really didn’t care. She loved every second with him.
Stay with me, Bridget , Bas growled, bringing her back to the moment.
Bas had stripped her out of her clothes and had her bent over the bed. His tongue flicked another hot path from her ass to her clit, and Bridget couldn’t hold back her orgasm any longer. She bit the bedsheets and let out a rattling cry as her orgasm slammed every one of her nerve endings.
That’s right, my little hawk, come for me. You look so fucking good with your perky ass in the air and your pussy dripping for me , Bas whispered through her mind, low and husky.
Bridget was never going to get over the fact that such a nice boy had such a dirty mouth as soon as the bedroom door shut. It turned her the fuck on every time.
“Bas, get inside of me,” she demanded. Bridget didn’t know how to talk dirty, but he still seemed to like it when she got bossy in bed.
Bas squeezed her ass. “I don’t know, I kind of feel like doing that again first.”
Bridget knew one trick that worked every time. She crawled further up the bed so she was on her hands and knees. She looked over her shoulder at him. “Are you sure you don’t want to claim your mate? She’s empty and aching…”
Bridget yelped as Bas pounced, flipping her onto her back and sitting on her with his knees on either side of her head. He grabbed the headboard with one hand and ran the head of his dick over her lips with the other.
“I think I need to teach my mate about what happens when she’s a dirty tease,” Bas growled, his eyes glowing.
Bridget opened her mouth and stuck out her tongue. She loved it when he lost control and took exactly what he wanted from her.
Bas plunged his dick in with shallow thrusts, letting her get used to him. She would never be able to fit all of him in her mouth, but her mouth was never his final destination.
“Fuck, Bridget. You always feel so good. I’ll never get over the feeling of your hot little mouth taking my cock,” he groaned, his other hand going to the headboard.
Bridget relaxed her jaw a little more and squeezed his ass, taking him further down her throat. Her eyes were watering, and she could only breathe through her nose, but it was worth it to watch Bas’s gorgeous body rock and move above her. She was addicted to the way his expression grew more and more agonized as he fought not to come. He was so gorgeous, and he was all hers.
Bas swore and pulled back from her. “I can’t keep going without coming, and I need to be in you.”
“Finally,” she said, her voice husky.
Bas moved back down her body and bent one of her legs so he could slide into her in one slick stroke.
“You better hang onto that headboard, little hawk,” Bas said, dragging her hands above her head.
“Why? You going to show me who’s boss?” she teased, wrapping her fingers around the wood.
Bas’s eyes glowed as he leaned down to nip her bottom lip hard enough to make her whimper. “Oh, baby, you already know who’s boss.”
Bridget wanted to sass him again, but he thrust so hard into her that it drove the breath and attitude right out of her. Bas fucked her like it was their last night on Earth, and Bridget was never going to get enough. She wrapped her leg around his waist and used the other as a brace to push her up to meet him thrust for thrust.
“Love how fucking needy you are,” Bas moaned, lifting her hips higher. “My perfect mate. You’re so beautiful when you’re flushed and panting and taking my cock.”
“Bite me, Bas. Claim me,” Bridget begged, turning her head to one side to expose her neck to him. “I need it to get through tonight.”
“Oh, my love, you never have to beg for that,” Bas growled. “I want the whole world to know exactly who you belong to.” He always knew exactly what she wanted because his fingers began to stroke her clit, his deep, claiming thrusts never slowing.
Bridget’s pussy clamped down on him, and Bas gave her neck one long lick before sinking his teeth in. Bridget screamed his name, her whole body shaking with the force of the orgasm that shredded her to pieces.
Bas’s teeth released her, and he licked and kissed his way up to her mouth. “You’re all mine,” he growled, the dragon riding close to the surface.
“You’re mine.” Bridget let go of the headboard, her fingers tangling in sweat-damp curls. She gave them a tight squeeze. “And don’t you forget it.”
Bridget dragged him to her mouth, their lips and tongue clashing. He came with her name on his lips and sank down on top of her. He was the best kind of weighted blanket.
Bridget carded her fingers through his hair. “How much time do we have?”
“We are already late, but I don’t care. It’s our party,” Bas murmured against her breast.
Bridget hummed. “And why do we need one again?”
“Because I love you, and everyone needs to know it. Also, mating parties are a tradition. The family can’t help it. They will use any excuse to get together.” Bas lifted his head. “If it gets too much for you, you just need to let me know, and we can slip away.”
Bridget was never going to get used to someone taking her neurodivergence into account. She hated crowds and too much noise, and Bas knew it.
“Fuck, I love you,” she said, kissing him again. “It’s a party in the backyard, so I’m sure I’ll be fine.”
Bas only laughed. “You say that now, but there’s no party like a fae party.”
Bas knew that people had been in the back gardens decorating all afternoon, but he didn’t realize one of those people had been Oberon, and he had been landscaping in a way only a king of the forests could. The burned patches of grass that had been the result of the fight with the Brollachan were now gone and were filled with wildflowers in Celtic knot patterns.
There was a grove of weeping willows that created an aisle, their branches forming a long arch and were filled with twinkling lights. A long table had been set up underneath it and was piled high with food. It was also packed with relatives and not just the Greatdrakes, but the Ironwoods and their partners, and all six of the Tuatha Dé Danann with their mates.
“Holy shit,” Bridget squeaked beside him.
“They are here!” Oberon bellowed from where he was sitting with Chrissy. Bas held Bridget’s hand tighter so she didn’t run.
“I told you they would make it once they finished boning,” Imogen said from the other side of the table.
“Family. This is Bridget,” Bas called over the top of them.
Bridget waved and said, “Be gentle. It’s my first time.” The table roared with laughter, and Bridget’s ears went pink.
Bas knew Bridget was better with people than she thought, especially when the people were all magical and as quirky as she was. Bas didn’t know he was capable of so much happiness as they welcomed his mate amongst them. Hours were passing, and he was sure he had eaten and drank something but didn’t taste a thing. He was too busy watching Bridget charm every single one of their family members.
“I’m happy for you, little brother,” Apollo said, throwing an arm around him. “You guys are disgustingly cute together. She’s an absolute keeper.”
“I know she’s perfect,” Bas replied, his face hurting from smiling. “And she’s going to be a great magician.”
“She’s quick as a whip, and it makes her easy to teach,” Valentine said, coming to stand on the other side of him. All the Greatdrakes men had taken on the challenge of Bridget’s education, each teaching her their area of expertise.
Bas nudged his eldest brother. “Just don’t teach her anything fucked up like spirit boxes.”
“Where’s the fun in that?”
Reeve joined them and gave his brother a stern look. “Seriously, Val, you need to get rid of that thing.”
“Never know. We might need to use it in the future. Don’t worry so much, squirt,” Valentine said, nonplussed.
Apollo rolled out his shoulders. “Well, this has been fun and all, but I know Bas is about to sneak off with Bridget, so I’m going to hit the town. The night is young, and if I’m around any more loved-up couples, I just might scream.”
“Watch yourself. There’s more than the Brollachan out there that could be hunting,” Lachlan said, appearing out of the shadows and making them all jump.
Apollo looked down his nose at him. “Makes life interesting. Night, boys.” He disappeared through the trees with a backward wave.
“I don’t suppose you’ll stop torturing each other at some point?” Valentine asked Lachlan.
“He can stop it at any point. He just doesn’t want to,” Lachlan replied. He gave Bas a hug. “Congrats, man. It’s good to see you so happy.”
Bas patted him on the back. “Thanks, Lachie. Looking forward to your party. Make sure he doesn’t hurt himself, yeah? He’s in a mood.”
“I got him. Even if he makes me want to punch things. I got him,” Lachlan said and headed the same way Apollo went. Valentine and Reeve heaved identical, tired sighs as they watched him go.
“They will figure it out,” Bas said, not really sure if it was true.
“Bas! Look what Quinn gave me.” Bridget carried a heavy-looking bundle towards them.
“And what is all that, my love?”
Bridget put it on the ground in front of him. “They are flying leathers! The fae make them to keep warm when they are riding dragons.”
“Is that so?” Bas asked, grinning down at her.
Bridget wrapped her arms around his neck, and Reeve and Valentine took the hint and slipped away. “I’ve always wanted to ride a dragon.” She flung a dirty image of her sitting on his face into Bas’s head without warning.
Bas smacked her on the ass. He kept a hold of her because there was no way to hide his raging hard-on. “You’re getting way too good at that,” he said.
Bridget went up on her tiptoes and kissed his bottom lip. “You shouldn’t have taught me how to do it then.”
Bas laughed and lifted his mate in his arms. He ignored the jeers and catcalls from the rest of his family as he started back toward the house. Bridget giggled and buried her face into his neck in embarrassment.
“Don’t worry, little hawk. I’m about to teach you something new right now,” he said, and still laughing, they kissed all the way back to bed.
