“I’m in control of everything,” I said, continuing with my rules, ignoring the escalating sexual tension flaring between us.
“I have no idea what to say,” he laughed with confusion. “Honestly, how the hell did I get so lucky?”
“That brings me to another rule. No getting emotional over anything.”
“I’m not being emotional,” he admitted. “I’ve just never met a woman like you before.”
I caught the genuine curiosity in his voice and shut it down fast. I wasn’t here to get attached. I was horny, he was horny, and we were both just here to satisfy the urge.
“All you’re seeing is someone who desperately wants to fuck a hot man,” I informed him with a casual smile. “You, Dr. Stone, just happen to be exactly what I’m looking for. I haven’t been with anyone for over a year, and I plan to make up for that. I just want to ensure you won’t let me down.”
He grinned that wolf grin I saw when I first locked eyes with him, “Well, I’m definitely the man for the job.”
“The job?” I chuckled.
“In all fairness, I feel like I’m being interviewed for thefuck positionyou’re trying to fill tonight.”
I laughed. “I guess that’s how this sounds, doesn’t it?”
“Exactly. Like I mentioned, I’ve never met anyone like you before,” he relaxed back in his chair, his expression more calculating and hungrier than when he first approached me.
I had no idea what honestly possessed me to take this approach tonight, but it felt damn good to throw caution to the wind and not just live a little but be daring as fuck while doing it.
“Any additional rules?” he questioned in humor.
“The most important one, of course, but given my friends’ reactions to you when you first approached me tonight, I’m sure you’re already prepared?”
“Condoms?” he answered with a humored expression that made his naturally rugged looks even more damn fine.
“I’m not surprised you already knew what I was getting at.”
He laughed, “Don’t worry, I’m stocked up. You want more rounds than one? We could go until sunrise, and I won’t run out.”
“Thinking like me already?” I took another sip of my cocktail.
“We’re going to have a fantastic night.” He glanced over at his group of friends who’d been seemingly watching our every move. “If only those bastards could read lips…” he quietly said to himself.
“Another rule,” I said, pulling his attention back to me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Jake Mitchell raise his glass to Jace. Ash and the other ladies had joined their husbands and were now watching us curiously.
“What’s that, gorgeous?” he questioned in a cocky voice.
“No kissing and telling toanyonein that group,” I raised my eyebrows and nodded in the direction of our friends.
The many expressions that crossed his face were enough for me to break character and start laughing.
“Sorry, pal. You’re not saying a word about me to any of my friends’ husbands. I’m not giving them fresh gossip to feed their little circle. I know those men love running to their wives with juicy details. My boss is married to your boss, and while your name hasn’t come up at work, I’ve heard plenty of delicious little stories about what some of you single doctors get up to at that hospital.
“You have, have you?” he asked, glancing at his friends as if he were tempted to go find out what I might know about his sex life.
“I have,” I answered, “but not because Ash is one to gossip. Some of the stories she’s told me were merely out of entertainment due to staff being involved with each other.”
“Well, if it’s the story about a doctor and a nurse who were fucking on the ER operating table because all the closets were occupied by others, then that wasn’t me.”
His eyes squinted as if he were searching my mind for what I might’ve heard about him.
“The one where the ambulance and ER doctors brought their gunshot patient in for emergency surgery only to find the table was already in use by a horny nurse and doctor?”
He chuckled, and his eyebrows rose in a way that made him appear so damn adorable.
