And Dinah melted beneath him, withered bonelessly into the sheets, pulling him down with her.

“I’m too heavy. I’ll squash you,” Jack said, his voice harsh with exhaustion.

“You’re perfect. Let me have all of you.”

They lay that way for a few minutes catching their breath, and Dinah thought nothing could be more perfect than this moment.

Jack rolled onto his back suddenly, carrying her with him to lie across him. He was still inside her, although softer now, and that pleased her. Her head rested on his chest, and she traced a finger through the coarse hairs around his nipple. It tightened as she watched.

“You’re sensitive there, too?” she asked.

“I am.”

She stuck out her tongue and flicked the tip across the brown nub. “Do you like this, too?”

“Mm-hmm,” he moaned. His eyes were closed, and he had the most peaceful smile on his lips.

“I want to know all the places you’re sensitive.” Her hand roamed down his ribs and across his belly.

“I need a few minutes to recover, and I can show you a few.”

She sighed, her bliss immeasurable. There was so much she didn’t know about this wonderful man.

She remembered his questions on their first morning together in her office. “What did you enjoy studying in school?”

“I hated school.”

“Truly? All of it?”

He was quiet for a minute. “Sports. I enjoyed sports. I was good at rowing.”

She traced the curve of his biceps and thought she could have guessed he was an active boy.

“I know you like boxing, too. What else are you passionate about? What do you love?”

He lifted his head and met her gaze. “I love you, Dinah. I love you.”

She felt as if the bed tilted and dumped her off, then something lifted her soaring to a height she couldn’t imagine returning from. “I love you, too, Jack.”

Grasping her by the waist, Jack drew her up to kiss her, wildly, passionately, his need meeting her own. In the back of her mind, Dinah knew there’d be bad days ahead, but she didn’t fear them. With this man beside her she could face anything. He was the only man who could ever complete her life.
