Penny
Just sent money your way, Sky.
Penny
Thanks a lot, Anna. I was really hoping you would stay strong for at least one more week.
Skyla
Got it, Pen!
Skyla
Okay, Anna. Spill. I need all the dirty deets about the silver daddy.
I leave a voice message going over all of last night’s events, from the dancing at Kalli’s to his confession outside my house, to finding him stricken with grief, and finally to the spasm-inducing orgasm that left me so satiated I had my best sleep in years.
Skyla
Loooooove this! Anna, I am so happy for you. Are you going to have another wedding? Can I be a bridesmaid this time? Or you know, at least get an invite?
Penny
I’m happy for you, Anna, but just be careful. The two of you have sped through some major life choices and it might not be a bad idea to slow things down a bit.
Anna
Don’t worry, Pen. We rushed into things last time, though we were intensely intoxicated. I think I’ll hold out at least an entire
weekend this time around before I do something crazy like renew our vows or have kids with the man.
Penny
Don't even joke about that!
Jasmine
Well, when his dumbass screws up, just know I’m ready with the papers.
Skyla
Oh, Jaz. Always so willing to stick it to the man. Maybe you should try having a man stick something in you.
I toss my phone to the side so Jaz and Sky can bicker with one another, then head to the bathroom so I can take care of things before I head down to see my man. I learned today how incredibly difficult it is to brush your teeth and floss when you have the biggest smile on your face.
Picking up Keaton’s rumpled shirt from last night off the floor, I slip it on and pick up my phone to check it before making my way to the kitchen.
Daniel
I miss seeing those curves of yours every day, Anna. You can’t ignore me forever. I’ll be seeing you soon.
Yesterday I would have been shaking as I read Daniel’s words. I would have spiraled into an episode of fear and nausea. But not today, Satan. Doing what I should have done as soon as I quit my job, I block his number and head down to say good morning to my husband.
