I picked her up, and she wrapped her legs around my body, placing a kiss on my neck.

“No,” I said. “We have eight months to make the most of it. You need to quit your job. We’ll stay naked the entire time.”

She laughed as I carried her down the stairs, and the security guard looked the other way. It wasn’t an uncommon sight. Me coming to retrieve her. Us leaving entwined. Butbordel de merde, Jada was right. We were going to have to become civilized.
