He shifted up on the bed until we were side by side and wrapped in each other's arms.
"You're amazing, you know that?" I told him, looking deep into his blue eyes.
"You're the one who's amazing," he said softly as he twisted a strand of my hair around his finger.
We relaxed into each other's arms, basking in the afterglow.
"Liz, I—" Grant opened his mouth, then closed it.
"What is it?" I asked.
He took a breath, then let it out.
"Nothing," he said, petting my hair softly and pressing a kiss to my forehead. “I’m just so glad I have you.”
Were the same words struggling to escape his mouth, too?
I snuggled down into his arms. He didn’t need to say it.
I felt Grant’s love in my heart.

"Bree!" Mason called out, a pleased grin on his face.
It had been a slow night. We were about thirty minutes from closing when a familiar pretty girl walked in.
Mason ducked under the bar counter and made his way to the door to sweep her up in his arms. She laughed, her voice like bells and hugged him back.
"What are you doing here?" Mason asked his girlfriend.
"I've got a later shift tomorrow," she told him. "So I thought I would use my evening to come hang out with you."
I'd met Bree a few months ago when she came to a bar trivia night. She and Mason had instantly hit it off. They'd had a few ups and downs, but were as happy and mushy with each other as Grant and I now were.
Bree's face lit up when she saw me.
"Lizzy, it's so good to see you!" she said. "How are things?"
"They're good." I flicked my eyes quickly to where Grant was pouring a cocktail and suppressed a smile. "They're really good," I told her.
Bree looked between me and Grant, then her sunny smile grew by a hundred watts.
"Are congratulations in order?" she stage-whispered to me.
I couldn't hide my smile any longer as I nodded happily.
"Finally!" she said. "I was wondering how long it would take the two of you to figure things out."
"Did everyone know?" I half-complained, half-joked.
"Yes," Evan said as he breezed past me to deliver a drink. He threw me a wink as he set a beer down on a customer's table. "It was agonizing watching the two of you."
"I'm glad the torture is over for you," I said.
"And who's this gorgeous lady?" Evan said as he glided past Bree. "Could she be the amazing Breanna that Mason won't shut up about?"
A faint flush appeared on Bree's face, but Mason only looked smug as he tugged her against his side.
