I rush to my front door, swinging it open eagerly. Cameron’s been busy preparing for the match this weekend, but every day he’s left small gifts outside my door—slices of cake from a top-rated bakery, a pothos plant, a bag of gummy worms, and today, a little teacup with a yellow duck painted on the bottom. I press the cold porcelain to my cheek, right where he kissed it a week ago.
