“And Camille?” Sozi ventures. “What are you going to do with her? Surely you’re not going to stay married after all of this, are you?”

I don’t answer. Instead, I glance at the family portrait above the fireplace. The perfect illusion. The perfect lie. My fist clenches at my side. I had it all. Loving wife. A beautiful daughter, an adorable son. A successful career. Status. Privilege. Respect. A mother who worshipped the ground I walked on.

Camille has takeneverythingfrom me.

I’ll get it back.

All of it.

But first, I have to find her—and I will because I know my wife.

I know her better than she thinks I do.

While it won’t be easy, it won’t be impossible either.

Not for me.

And certainly not for a man with nothing more to lose.
