Page 91 of Beta Team-The Saviors: Part two
Cryptic, aka Beckett, stayed with Axel until we couldn’t risk it any longer. We sent him into hiding with Roland’s team, since they’re all running from the same person now. His little brother went to live with Betty and Isiah and is loving his new life, even though he misses his brother.
Even though life hasn’t come easy, I can’t help but be thankful for what I have. The Beta Team was already close, probably closer than most of the others, but now we have each other in all ways. Adding Jason and Kira brought us closer, but Tivon is who we needed to complete us. We all bring different things to this relationship, and we’re making it work.
There was no blowback from our involvement with my father’s death or the destruction that followed us around while we were on the run. Nolan somehow got everything submitted anonymously, so now we just have to live our life.
“Are you ready, Babe?” I look up at Jason’s beautiful face and get to my feet.
I pull him into my chest. “Marry me.”
Jason jerks back. “What?”
“Let’s get married. All of us.”
Tears fill Jason’s eyes and he laughs. “Only you can pull off a proposal like this.”
“You knew what you were getting into the first night in that stockroom, Sweet cheeks.”
“Ari, I’d marry you right now if I could. You are my life, and I’ll never be able to express the love I feel for all of you.”
“So, that’s a yes?”
“Yes,” Jason laughs again. “But maybe we should involve the others in this conversation.”
I grab his hand and drag him laughing back to the group. “We’re getting married. Full commitment ceremony shit. Until Death do us part.”
Tyler whoops and pumps his fist in the air. “Let’s do this.”
Gavin shakes his head with a roll of his eyes. “You guys have to be the most unromantic motherfuckers I’ve ever met, but let’s do this.”
Keon wraps his arm around Kira’s shoulders. “I’m in.”
I look at Kira, and she smiles. “I’m all the way in.”
With a plan forming in my mind for the ceremony, I show them around my first home. The place that shaped me into the man that I am, but didn’t define who I wanted to be.
I am, and always will be, a Savior.
