Slipping from her cunt, I rubbed frantic circles over her clit.
“Now, Summer.” I was barely hanging on.
And because she was fucking perfect, she obeyed. An unfiltered scream slipped past her parted lips as her body grew taut, and she detonated, clamping down around my cock like a vise.
The beast inside me took over instantly. With a punishing grip on her hips, I unleashed, pounding into her like my lifedepended on it and roaring when my release crashed into me with the force of a hurricane.
I must’ve blacked out from the sheer intensity of my climax because when I came to, I was flat on my back beside Summer, my chest heaving as I tried to catch my breath.
Snaking an arm out, I hauled her to my chest, pressing a kiss to the top of her head and breathing in her scent. “Ti amo.”
She peeked up at me, a smile tipping up the corners of her lips as she pressed them to my sweaty skin. “Ti amo.”
I ran my hand down the length of her now-tangled blonde hair. “I wasn’t too rough on you?”
“Never.” She sighed, sinking deeper into my hold.
“Need to get you cleaned up.”
“Tired.” The word came out mumbled, like she was already half asleep.
“I know, dolcezza.“ Zapped of energy myself, the last thing I wanted to do was leave this bed, but it was necessary.
Hauling myself upright, I had to practically drag her to the edge of the mattress so I could lift her into my arms.
“Come on.” Summer was a rag doll as I carried her into the ensuite and turned on the shower.
As I washed my boneless wife with extreme care, I couldn’t help but smile. There were a million more memories waiting to be made with the beautiful woman in my arms, who was finally mine in every conceivable way.
Tonight was the start of the rest of our lives.
“Status report,” I barked into the phone pressed to my ear.
I was half expecting to hear the same pathetic response I’d heard for the past month— that we were no closer to locating thepeople responsible for setting our house on fire with us asleep inside of it—so my eyebrows shot toward my hairline when Enzo replied, “We’ve got intel that points toward the Russians.”
My heart rate kicked up. “What kind of intel?”
“Um, yeah. About that.” I could practically hear his grimace through the phone.
With my patience wearing thin, I snapped, “Spit it out.”
“Did you know Gabi has some kind of fuck buddy situation going on with one of the bouncers at Ballistic?”
I groaned, pinching the bridge of my nose. “Please, for the love of God, tell me you didn’t pimp out Summer’s best friend, who also happens to be our distant cousin.”
A frustrated huff sounded in my ear. “She’s been up my ass every damn day since you guys left. Got on my last damn nerve with her accusations that Summer was taken against her will, and I lost it. Told her if she wanted to figure out who started the house fire, so her bestie could come home, that she could be my guest. Didn’t expect her to start peppering me for info on leads. The minute I mentioned we suspected the Russians, she literally said, ‘Hold my beer,’ and disappeared, only to resurface the next morning bragging that men are so pathetic that they’re willing to spill their secrets for a chance to get their dick wet.”
My nose wrinkled, and I dragged a hand down my face. “Really didn’t need that mental picture.”
“And you think I fucking did? I nearly threw up in my mouth!” Enzo cried. “She might be a total pain in my ass, but she got further in one night than we’ve gotten in a month.”
“All right. What’s the intel?” I prompted.
“Gabi said that Nikolai—that’s the bouncer’s name—was all too happy to brag that he’d been in on the crew of soldiers ordered to carry out the order, which came directly from Lev Popov himself. Stupid fuck was proud as hell to have the pakhan trust him with such an important task.”
Blood boiling, I saw fucking red. “She knows she signed his death warrant, right?”
Enzo snickered.
