Taking her hands in his, he brought them to his lips and kissed them. “Promise me every so often we can go to a cottage like the one on the estate and be alone away from the world and everyone in it.”

She didn’t answer him but ran over to the bed to get her phone. Holding it up in front of him to show him a picture of a house much like the cottage on the estate, she said, “I’m about two days ahead of you on that. I found this place that I love in this little town in Idaho, so I bought it. But one thing, Hunter. Now that the stalker thing is over, I don’t have to stay in New York anymore. I want to move back to LA. Are you okay with that?”

He’d lived there for more than half his life and had never planned on going back again. Then again, he hadn’t planned on falling in love with a movie star either.

Life was funny like that. Sometimes the place you started your journey was where you belonged all along.

He nodded and pulled her into his arms. Kissing her, he whispered against her lips, “When do we leave?”

Alexis ran her hand down the front of his shirt and smiled in that sexy way he loved. “We can leave whenever we want, but I think I’d like to do something else first. We need to make up for lost time.”

Closing the door behind him, he carried her to the bed to start their happily ever after. They could get back to real life and moving to LA later.
