“I know I didn’t raise you, Bear but I am so proud of how you’ve turned out. I’m so thankful to be your mother.”

I squeezed her hand while we stood outside talking about what life would look like for her being forty-five and having a newborn. I reassured her that she would have everyone’s help though.

She’d definitely have mine because I was determined to help my little brother have a life like I never had.

I wanted him to be like our mother. I wanted him to be good and honest. I didn’t want to see a sliver of our father in him. The world already experienced Griffon Stone once.
