Amadeo

Only two words rippled through my mind.

Fucking explosive.

I knew we would be hot together, but I never guessed we would lose ourselves to each other so completely. For a few minutes there, I truly had gotten lost. Like a drunken night at the best party of my life but I couldn’t remember it all.

Yes, I almost forgot my own damn name.

Here I was in her bed, holding her close to me as we tried to catch our breath…to come back to the real world.

“What the hell just happened?” Gia asked breathlessly.

Almost as breathlessly, I replied, “Hell if I know?”

We both then burst into a fit of laughter. Albeit, a gasping laughter, we held each other as peals of snorts and chuckles were released from us.

It took a few minutes for us to calm our shared hilarity as we both had tears on our cheeks.

“I have never—” we both said at the same time.

Then our laughter erupted again.

This time it took a little longer to return from the amused insanity.

We finally came back down from whatever trip to heaven we just made.

So we simply laid there on her bed in the quiet of the room.

I think we’d worn ourselves out even after a full night’s sleep.

I had her wrapped up in my arms as her head rested on my bare chest. This went on for a long while and I felt more at peace than ever in my life.

Was this what my brothers Gio, Romeo and Dante had?

Was this what it was all about? Being with the person that satisfied different parts of you?

If so, I shoulda signed up for it earlier.

I now understood their craziness. Or what I’d thought was crazy.

“I have a confession to make,” Gia’s whispered statement broke the relaxed silence.

“Let me guess,” I replied. “You are not really a human doctor. You are a celestial angel from heaven. You floated down from cloud nine to capture my heart and soul.”

She paused then chuckled. “Wow, no. I am no angel, Deo.”

I loved hearing my name on her lips. “Ok, hit me with it.”

Now, she paused. “I will but why cloud nine?” she asked. “What does that mean?”

I paused and then said, “I really don’t know. Damn, where’s Google when you need it? I gotta charge my phone.”

We both laughed some more.

Finally, Gia blurted her confession, “I got nothing out of sex before this.”

I furrowed my brows in confusion and asked, “Nothing? What does that mean?”

“I never enjoyed it. I never climaxed. I constantly wondered why everyone acted like it was this huge deal. I tried it several times and it fell flat for me. I thought of it as a waste of time.”

I blinked my eyes at her. “You never came before?”

She snickered. “That was all you got from my confession?”

“Mostly, but…” I sat up and pulled her into my lap. “...if you thought you were frigid, think again! That almost melted my brain, Gia. I think I might be missing some brain cells now.”

She laughed. “What about what you did to me?”

“Did?” I asked her as I smoothed her silky hair with my hand. “Whatever I did came naturally. I blame you in fact. You drove me crazy all this time. And well…” I paused, then smirked. “I will think up more excuses later, I am sure.”

With her head resting on my shoulder, she explained it to me, “All I can figure out is that I had so many endorphin releases that the resulting dopamine ate up all the receptors I had. Peptides then rushed in and activated my opiate receptors, causing an analgesic effect. So in essence, my neurotransmitters were shorting out and I had a loss of containment over my mental acuity.”

I paused in my hair smoothing and tried to mentally decipher what she just said. Blinking rapidly, I asked in a little confusion, “You mean you had your mind blown?”

She sat up from leaning on me and nodded.

I kept chuckling. “It is a miracle that I can understand your alien language, but I seem to be able to.”

She smacked my chest with a light tap. “I’m serious here. I never had this happen to me before.”

“I get it, I do. I mean I have been happy at times,” I admitted.

“If that is what you’re describing, but I never had this happen to me either.

Not without tons of alcohol or having my favorite football team win a super bowl.

” I rolled my eyes then shook my head. “No, that’s not true.

What I just felt was far more than that.

I just don’t have anything spectacular enough to compare it to. ”

Tilting her head at me, she then said, “Well, I do know that the dopamine reward system can motivate a person to repeat behaviors that will again lead to pleasurable experiences.”

“Sounds like an addiction but then again that suggestion sounds like a great plan to me.” I snickered. “Let’s just lock your door, have Zia bring us meals and we'll just stay here for maybe a good week.”

We stared at each other and laughed again.

After another couple of quiet minutes, Gia smiled at me in the sweetest way as she confessed, “I explained it to you in medical jargon when I should just speak frankly. You see, I do that when I get scared or skittish. I talk in medical terms.”

“I noticed that before. I think I killed my phone looking up all the terms and long words that you’ve said in the last few days. Googling them used up an entire phone battery, I think?”

Gia smirked at me again. “Yes, your shortcuts through the medical field. When the rest of us have to attend classes for years.”

“Hey, I liked school,” I defended. “Just not for eternity.”

“Unlike me, you are good at saying what you think and feel, Deo. You just put it out there and I admit that threw me more than a few times. Like you telling me that you could see I was attracted to you and to just tell you the truth.” She slowly shook her head.

“I admit it, I wanted to run as far away from you as I could get just then.”

I grasped her hand in mine and raised it to my lips.

Kissing her palm, I looked into her eyes.

“So I have to confess too. I wanted to give up on us. Time and again, but whenever you got close to me, my heart would react to your very presence. I mean other parts of me also reacted.” I snicker and gave her my best wink.

She giggled.

I went on to explain what happened to me, “But my reaction to you was an all out experience. Not just attraction. And it wasn’t the challenge either.

I never chased a woman in my life. But I did chase you.

I knew you were supposed to be with me. Then after spending time with you, I refused to give up. ”

Gia looked into my eyes and told me, “And I’m glad you didn’t give up. I wasn’t any help, that’s for sure.”

“Ya think?” I teased her. “Like I feared you would start to throw stuff at me after a bit. Like, that vase of flowers Zia put in Deacon’s room.”

Laughing, she nodded. “I did think about that a time or two.”

“I knew it!” I grinned at her.

Gia now gazed into my eyes and told me softly, “I’ve never been so good as just putting it out there, telling people how I feel.

Nooo. I kept that under lock and fucking key.

Holding onto it all so tightly that…” She let out a long breath and went on, “It became a part of me and not a good part either. Then after that, I didn’t know how to be happy.

How to let go of it all. I was sure I didn’t deserve happiness anyway.

Then with you, for the first time ever in my life, I experienced complete euphoria, Deo.

You showed me what I’d been missing. I think it changed me too.

I don’t feel that coldness anymore. I don’t feel a seething anger like I’d held onto for two years now.

I also trust someone with my well-being.

I trust you with my heart and my whole world. ”

Listening to this declaration, my chest nearly constricted with some feeling.

Some emotion I’d never felt before and it squeezed my heart.

I couldn't define it. Her trusting me to that degree surprised even me.

I hoped I could live up to this. Be the man she needed.

My father would be my first obstacle. I would step in and get him to release Gia from any deal they had made.

She was my woman now, so he needed to back off.

“Deo?”

Her voice broke in through my shock. I focused on her face and again raised her hand to kiss her knuckles.

“I promise to always protect you. I’m not perfect, Gia.

I can make mistakes.” I shook my head. “Hell, I probably will make mistakes. But I will never let anyone hurt you. We will stand together through the rest of whatever happens here. Then…” my voice trailed away.

At my declaration, tears filled her eyes. “Then?” she prompted.

I kissed her hand once again. “We can get married, have some babies, build that white picket fence and live happily ever after.” I raised my brows at her. “Whatdaya think?”

She shook her head. “I never met a man who believed in romantic concepts.”

“Romantic…” I scoffed. “Well, right now, this romance hero…” I rose up from the bed and then turned to scoop her up. “...Needs to get cleaned up and my princess needs a good loofahing.”

“Loofahing?” she asked in confusion.

Heading to her bathroom as I carried her in my arms, I tried to explain, “Yeah, you know, that like… nylon scrubber thing? They come in different colors and have a little string on them so you can hang them up to dry?”

She laughed and nodded at me. “Yes, there is one in my shower.”

“I knew it! It’s like they just gravitate to wherever people bathe. Always there within reach even if you don’t remember buying one. And you know what? The other day Zia said she has a bag of them delivered here every two weeks! Can you believe it?”

Gia kept laughing as I carried her over to the large shower.

“I also don’t know why they are called a loofah,” I went on. “I mean what the hell kind of language is that anyway?”

“It sounds Hawaiian, maybe?” Gia took a guess. “But you’re right. They have become really popular now.”

“Open the shower door, Gia,” I prompted.

Reaching out, she did so.

I stepped on through, then set her down and shut the door. “This will officially be our very first shower together.” I turned and stepped over to the panel on the wall and tapped a few buttons.

“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when I first came in here,” Gia told me. “Most people’s whole bedrooms aren’t as large as this shower.”

I agreed, “Yes, I admit we are all spoiled here. I’m away for days at a time.

Luca and I spend days at Descalia Corp sometimes.

Then when I come back, I look at my shower and feel like it is excessive.

But who has one that fits five people? Like is it so whole villages can shower together?

They are just normal back in the offices. ”

“Why are you there so much? At Descalia Corp, I mean.”

“For different reasons, but mainly because Luca is a workaholic. That man doesn’t know that there is more to life than the company.

Besides, it is already hugely successful.

He could have a main manager and the Board of Directors run it.

Anyway, this last time, we had been there a whole month.

It had been because of having to lock everything…

” My voice faded away as I turned to face her.

“Yes, I heard a lockdown being mentioned.” Gia nodded. “For my father’s part in that, I am sorry.”

“I cannot apologize for my father, so do not apologize for yours.”

“At least, you all don’t have to worry about that anymore or about Deacon.”

A change of subject was needed here. I couldn’t help it, I wanted this temporary get away to be longer. I moved her over to the shower spray then looked around. “So where is that loofah thing?”

“Right here.”

I turned to see her soaping it up. I went back over to her. “Let me have that.”

She wiggled her brows playfully. “Oh, I plan to.” She reached down with it and sensually swiped it over my package.

I chuckled. “Oh, you think you’re dangerous with that loofah, eh?”

She nodded. “Turn around so I can get a swipe at that sweet behind.”

In surprise, I tucked my head back.

Laughing, she repeated, “Come on, show me that cute ass of yours.”

My mouth popped open.

At my obvious shock, she tilted her head back and laughed.

I moved swiftly and picked her up to move her back with me as I sat on the shower bench. With a swiftness I didn't realize I had, I reached under her to slip my cock into her.

With a gasp, she leaned forward as she dropped the loofah to the tiled floor.

I grasped her waist and raised her up then shoved her down onto my shaft.

Her breath left her as she was brought up and then lowered down onto me again. “Oh…Oh!” she exclaimed.

“Damn, that feels good,” I growled into her ear as I propelled her again, then again. Raising my hips, I thrust up into her as I grasped each nipple with my fingers and tweaked them.

“Deo…” Her voice sounded raspy.

“Yes Gia, say my name again,” I whispered into her ear.

“Deo!” she gasped out as her body grew rigid and she came on my lap.

I loved hearing my name on her lips as she came for me. I held her steady by her hips again and clamped my mouth down her neck to suckle her skin as she climaxed. Her body nearly bucked out of my grasp as I pulled her back in and came inside of her. “No…you aren’t getting away so easily.”

Letting out a long sexy moan, her body sagged forward.

I still held her close to me as I whispered to her ear, “I think this is what they call cloud nine.”

Sputtering, Gia sagged against me as she laughed.
