Page 12 of Alien Jeopardy
Did I imagine that noise?
I almost convince myself to forget about it, considering we’re flying in the air together and I have bigger problems to worry about.
Until he bends his head down, nuzzling the juncture between my neck and shoulder, and inhales.
CHAPTER
FOUR
Ka-Rexsh
My mate.
My female.
My woman.
I inhale her, nostrils flaring, the delicious musk of her skin the most perfect thing I’ve ever smelled in my entire fucking life. Everything about her is perfect. And she chose me.
She chose me.
Pride fills me, and I beat my wings twice, unable to stop the giddy impulse.
I open my eyes, lifting my head and taking my time staring at her as I fly us towards the drop point they assigned me this morning.
Humans are not unusual on my planet, though the practice of abducting them waned over the centuries.
Still, I’ve never been this close to one, and I certainly never thought I would be fortunate enough to be mated to one. Only the richest and most powerful of the Draegon could boast mating with one, and human females have been scarce on ourplanet since the virus that wiped out most of our species’ females made them an even more precious commodity.
They are supposed to be able to give pleasure unlike anything our females are capable of, and even now, my cock strains to get to her, to find the valleys and hills of her pleasure and chart a course to her heart.
Having her in my arms is more than I’ve ever dared hope for.
Already, I can feel her blood heating from the mating poison working its way through her bloodstream.
Deep satisfaction makes my tail tighten where it’s wrapped around her thigh. Already, her scent begins to mix with mine.
I am well-pleased.
What better way to learn what pleases her than to complete this contest together? We finish, we receive a place to live on Sueva, a safe home for my mate and land. Nothing could be better.
I could finally be the kind of male that deserves a mate.
A bird of some sort squawks as it nearly glides into me, changing course at the last minute to avoid the collision.
A laugh climbs out of my throat, the sound unfamiliar. When was the last time I truly laughed?
When was the last time I felt as free as I do now, flying across the alien moon with my female in my arms?
Never.
I am certain I have never felt as free, as complete, as I do with this soft woman melting against my body.
