Whatever he ended up doing about his job, they’d decide it together.

“That’s for us to figure out. Until then, we can stay here or we can go wherever you want. I’ve saved up enough money to last three lifetimes. Whatever you want to do, we can do it.”

Kate tilted her head back to look up at him and smiled. “I know what I want to do right now.”

Roman swept her into his arms, careful not to hurt her shoulder still healing from the gunshot, and lay her down on the bed to kiss her. “Sorry you just made it, but I promise to make it after we’re done.”

“Promise?”

He smiled and nodded before kissing her again. He’d never broken a promise he made her yet, and he didn’t plan on beginning the rest of their life together by starting now. As for when they’d get out of bed for him to make it, he couldn’t say.

A day. Or two. Or whenever.

They’d figure that out together too, just like everything else between them.
