Gamble was honest.

“That’s the plan. I’m going to take care of it after you sleep. I know I did it once, but this time, I’ll be even more thorough. I’m also going to make sure the place is secure. I have to keep my man safe, especially after what went down.”

And he would.

No one was touching his Poe again. They could bet on that. He’d go feral and rogue in a heartbeat.

As for Gamble’s suggestion for him, Poe didn’t argue. It would be nice to sink into a nice hot bath and not think for a while.

“Okay, Mate. It’s a deal.”

Gamble got up, and grabbed all of the dishes to take back downstairs. As he did, Rufus followed, so he could let him out to do his business.

When he was gone, Poe headed into his bathroom, and sat on the end of the tub.

“Where is that key, Father? I know you’re likely here lingering. Help him find it. My life is in danger, and I need to get out of here.”

Of course, there was no answer.

What had he been expecting anyway?

As the water filled the tub, Poe took off his clothing, and sank into the warmth. He added some bath oil, so he could just breathe in the woodsy scent that reminded him of Gamble’s body wash and cologne.

And he closed his eyes.

He wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but he heard footsteps and opened his eyes. In the doorway stood his man, and he was holding a steaming mug of tea.

Well, that was the whipped cream on the top of his day. A hot man who was bringing him tea to help him relax.

Sign.

Him.

Up.

Now, if he could just get him naked…that would make this even better.

“I thought you’d like a cup of tea to calm down, and get you ready for some peaceful sleep.”

Oh, Poe knew what would make him sleep like a rock.

“Perhaps you should try to have your wicked way with me. That will knock me out for a few hours, easy.”

Gamble laughed.

“Start with the tea, and then we can add in some sexy time to get us both chilled out.”

Gently, he handed it to Poe.

Then, he did something surprising. He started to strip down, and as he did, Poe had one hell of an erection watching the show.

Apparently, he was getting his wish.
