“ R elax and stretch into child pose.” Mal demonstrated for the camera.

“Knees on the mat, toes touching. Remember to widen your knees as much as possible but keep it comfortable. Don’t hurt yourself trying to keep up with Bom.

” Chuckles sounded from the smart screen of the television.

He breathed out as he folded his body down, enjoying the relief on his back.

Lately, he was feeling more achy than usual. Probably because of the creature growing inside him. Last month he had concluded that he couldn’t keep ignoring the nausea, fatigue, and frequent bathroom trips. He had gone to the doctor and confirmed the most inconvenient news. He was pregnant.

He let his breath out and cleared his mind. “Five breaths here. Ground yourself, clear your mind. It’s time for some self-reflection. Check-in.”

Mal watched the others on the screen. Okay, he watched Cain.

His alpha looked stressed and struggled to relax.

The case was coming to a head. Roe had been attacked while taking his son to his first semester of college.

Sheriff McKenzie had been hurt. However, one good thing came from the incident.

They had the contract criminal behind bars, and he was willing to testify against, not only the Dorsey couple, but also the Loriston police.

Then there was Mal’s news. Cain wanted to be with Mal, especially since both Mal and Bianca were pregnant, but there was still a contract out on him.

Until the trial was over, Cain wasn’t safe.

Even being around Cain wasn’t safe. James and Gabrial Dorsey weren’t focused on Roe anymore.

They wanted the threat of Cain and Jasper removed.

Mal forced the thoughts from his mind and focused on the session he led. He slowly talked them through the last bit, then joined the group in a long om .

As the session ended, Tripp stood up, grinning. “Why, Mal, you’re practically glowing. Any news you would like to share?”

Mal rolled his eyes. “Who told you?”

Cain winced. “That would be me. Sorry, love. It slipped out when I was talking investments with him.”

“Slipped out?” Tripp snickered, brain like a twelve-year-old.

“Mal, are you pregnant?” Bom asked, studying him closely.

“You poor thing.” Marta gave him a sympathetic look. The newest addition to her family was still causing her nipples pain. And keeping the whole household awake at night. And worrying them by catching a cold over the weekend. Babies were a lot of work.

He cleared his throat. “Yes, everyone. I am pregnant. Starting next week, Cain will help me lead the group. Basically, I’ll talk and he’ll demonstrate the poses for those of you that need a visual.”

“How are the new pregnancy yoga sessions going?” Cain asked, eyes practically devouring him through the screen.

“More sessions?” Marta and Bom instantly perked up.

Mal chuckled. “You can join if you would like. Info is on my website. It’s just a gentle session in the late morning for pregnant folks.

Good prenatal care. Bianca helps me lead it.

” He blew a kiss to Cain. “To answer your question, it’s going well.

There are three members so far. Besides Bia and I. ”

His friends said goodbye one by one and signed out leaving him with Cain.

“How is Bianca doing?”

“I’m okay.” The teen poked her head into view of the camera.

“Doing homework in the kitchen with Truffle and Betty.” She walked into view, showing off an impressive baby bump.

“I have no privacy. Mal makes me eat healthy stuff, and we go foraging every day. Now he has me doing pre-natal yoga too.” She sighed.

“I miss junk food and reality shows, but my grades have never been better. Teddy is doing well too.”

They had found out she was having a boy, so Cain and Mal had named him Theodore David Reed. Teddy for short.

Cain smiled warmly. “I am very happy the two of you are doing well. Have you decided on a university yet?”

“I told you already,” she answered, snorting a laugh. “There is no way my grades are good enough for a scholarship. I’m going to have to work and save for a year before starting.”

Cain’s eyes narrowed. “I told you already that I am paying for your tuition. You will be my daughter one day soon. It is my joy to help you in any way I can.”

“The two of you are so stubborn.” Bianca groaned and sat on the couch. “You aren’t even married to Mal yet.”

“If you like it, then you should have put a ring on it.” Mal did his best Beyonce and danced while singing. Betty joined him, grunting as she ran around him.

Cain smirked. “Give me time, and I’ll finally have you where I want you, weirdo.”

Bianca fake gagged. “You two are worse than Mom and Mark. Paula says they’re totally gross now that they’re dating. I’m almost happy to be crammed in an RV with Mal. That is until you two start sweet-talking one another.”

“One day, you’ll be a gross adult and will find someone to flirt with until it makes Teddy and his little sibling gag.” Mal rubbed his own very small baby bump.

She rolled her eyes and lay on her side, placing a pillow between her knees. “Can we have salmon tonight?”

“Oh, with lentils and leeks.” Mal mentally went through what ingredients he had. “Yep.”

The three of them talked for another hour, enjoying each other’s presence even though Cain was far away. One day soon, they would be together again.

He couldn’t wait and could already envision them in the new house’s kitchen.

Van and Mark would sit at the bar, cuddled together.

Paula and Bianca would be in the living room, watching some clearly scripted reality show about living on a super yacht.

Cain would be at the small table in the corner of the kitchen with Teddy and a little blurry faced baby.

He’d probably be feeding them or reading them law books. Something serious like that.

Mal would be exactly where he wanted to be. Cooking for the people he loved.
