LEAH
The standing ovation had been going on for a full five minutes already. Leah stood in the wings, beyond the pool of light where Will stood in front of one of the most expensive pianos in the entire world, taking yet another bow.
This moment was his. The new tour was off to a flying start, and judging by the audience’s reception of his sonata, its worldwide debut was going to go down in musical history.
Leah glanced down at her silenced phone in her hand and smiled. She had news for William Pepper when his public had finally finished adoring him.
Beaming at the photo on the screen, Leah blinked back a few happy tears as she read the caption again.
Dear Uncle Will and Aunty Leah - meet Melody.
Hope you don’t mind, Will, but our little girl decided to share her birthday with your sonata.
Come home soon – Melody needs all your cuddles and so do we.
Connie, Ewan and Melody xx
Leah glanced back across the stage at the man she loved taking yet another bow as the audience roared their approval. As he straightened up, Will turned to look straight at her, holding his hand to his chest, silently telling her he loved her in front of the whole world.
Little did Will know that later tonight, Leah would be flying him home to meet his baby niece for the first time. Little did he know that she was also planning to go down on one knee the minute they were back on the beach.
Leah was ready to give him everything. PA, agent, girlfriend, wife… even mother of his children if life decided to bless them that way. William Pepper was her life… and that was exactly the way she wanted it to be. Forever.
