“Let me guess,” Daddy whispered in my ear. “Best day ever?”

I giggled. “How did you guess?”

“Because I know my boy and every day with him is the best day ever.”

“Daddy, you say the sweetest things.”

“Because I have the sweetest boy. Oops, husband.”

OMG. I was someone’s husband. This once loved by no one lost boy now had a husband, friends, and a family who loved him. Someone, somewhere watched out for me, and somehow, I’d earned the right to have a happily ever after.

Now I had a week of snorkeling, sand, swimming and sightseeing with all the people I loved.

Best. Life. Ever.
