Blu
The bubble of ecstasy lasted a total of three days before reality came knocking in the form of Olowin, who wanted to talk to Trike.
I fussed at the counter sorting drinks for them as Olowin took a seat, dressed all in black he was an imposing figure. Yet, next to Trike, despite him being bare chested, wearing just jeans, his hair a mess from where I’d ran my hands through it repeatedly after bouncing on his dick, there was something more striking—powerful—about his presence. I couldn’t say if it was his animal, his size, or the mated thing.
“I’m sorry that I’m cutting short your… mating time. Unfortunately, as with anything interesting happening in the pack, the gossips have got wind that there is another potato shifter and that he’s mated.” Olowin brushed his dark hair back in a move that spoke to frustration, none of which was displayed in his voice as he continued. “And as you have agreed to become an enforcer, and part of the pack, maybe it’s time you officially meet the rest of the pack. I think it’s best for it to happen at the pack meeting, which is organized for tonight, if you’re both up for it.” Olowin’s gaze shifted to me, including me, then back to Trike.
Bringing the cups of coffee to the table, I squeezed on to the bench seat next to Trike, he immediately lifted a hand and ran his fingertips over the side of my neck, gently. My pulse, which had been skittish and bouncy since Olowin had knocked on the door, slowed.
I edged closer, my skin heating as Trike draped his arm around my shoulders tucking me right against his body, uncaring that Olowin was right there watching. “If you think that works best. You’ll need to warn them about getting anywhere close to my boy, touching or getting between us when I shift. My animal won’t ask questions and be rational.”
“Thank you for the warning,” he chuckled. “My wolf side gets the reasons why, but if you could not kill a pack member before we get to the introductions, that would be great.”
“Keep your pack in order and y’all will be fine.” Trike didn’t give any assurances and I could help the buzz of excitement that came from the protectiveness which came through our link.
You need to tone down your thoughts, Blu. You’re killing me over here. Frenchie’s voice interrupted my thoughts and I giggled.
Same. My mates with you and what I’m getting from you, Blu, is making it hard not to insist he comes home.
Olowin’s twitching lips suggested Russ was projecting to his mate, but he showed no other outwards signs of his amusement. From what Russ had mentioned, I was positive Olowin was getting a dose of Russ’s desire for him to go back into the pack house. No amount of nakedness since the mating was not nearly enough to quell my desire for Trike. If anything, it made the yearning for him increase.
Does the need to… you know, lessen at all? I directed at both my brothers.
Lessen… you have more chance of hell freezing over. Frenchie was laughing hard enough to give Blu a headache.
Then Russ got in on the act. You’ll be a nymphomaniac before you know it.
So it’s not just that I’ve mated with a species that’s not a potato? Or there is something wrong with me? I’d tried not to think that there was possibly something wrong with me when I was sure I’d already an imprint of Trike’s cock inside my ass by how many times it had found itself in my ass.
Ours are wolves and just because the Elders never talked about this side of things, doesn’t mean that they don’t get extra jiggy behind closed doors.
Or in the potato fields when it’s planting season.
Yuck… seriously Russ, did you have to put that thought in my head.
Sorry…
Liar, Frenchie fired back. Gotta go before Paco paints his brother green!
Huh?
Don’t ask… see you later.
The block I’d not tried to erect after not being able to speak to them for months was a visible presence when Frenchie closed me out. So I made a visible effort when Russ also had to focus on the babies.
It appeared I’d missed a lot of the conversation when Olowin got up and offered his hand to Trike. There was a drawing of power—that’s what it felt like to me—as their hands met and clasped together. Olowin’s eyes darkened and his wolf was there, staring out.
“You’ll never be able to use your alpha power over me, but I accept that you’re top dog.”
Olowin’s eyes snapped with anger. “We are not a dog.”
Forearms flexed on the arms of the joined hands. “No offense was meant. It’s just a turn of phrase.”
He was telling the truth, but it didn’t lessen the tension that rolled off both men. The air was buzzing with it, and I quivered, edging closer still to Trike, not liking how Olowin didn’t lose his wolfy glare.
My ability zinged through my body as I reached up for Olowin’s arm and gave him a blast of vibration to get his hand off my mate. It was pure instinct to protect, not something I’d ever felt the need to do, even with my family. Was this a mate thing?
He jerked back a whole foot, giving me the desired effect and getting Trike to return his attention to me, his brows drawing together.
Sensing nothing that said I was in trouble, I gave him a wobbly smile, worrying I could have messed up our chances with joining the back by attacking the alpha.
It’s fine. Olowin needs me more than I need him cutie-saurus.
Olowin rubbed at the arm I’d zapped, his eyes narrowing on me. “How… Christ to fuck. What did you do?”
“Zinged you,” I said, my voice trembling from how damn bold I’d been giving the alpha of the pack I was joining a whammy.
“Jeez, that’s some talent you have there!”
All teeth the smile Trike gave to Olowin got my cock plumping. “You have no fucking idea.”
His pleasure at recalling what I’d done to get him off that morning by using that same power on the head of his cock made the situation in my pants worse.
Stop that Daddy, I can’t concentrate.
He snorted. That’s me most of the time. Welcome to my new world.
I was preening, actually preening inside and out, grinning at how much Trike found me enticing.
“I can see it’s time to leave, but I’d like to discuss this talent of yours, Blu. It could be a real asset to the pack in helping protect it.”
I stared at Olowin, trying to get my lips and brain to work in sync as I squeaked, “Me.”
“Yes, you.” He ran his hand up the sleeve of his shirt. “Was that full strength what you did just then?”
“Nope.”
His expression grew inquisitive. “I think I’m gonna need a demonstration.”
Trike made a guttural noise in the back of his throat and Olowin brought up both hands. “Not on me.”
“Daddy, I wouldn’t touch anyone like I touch you,” I was quick to reassure, then realized what I’d said in front of Olowin. My gaze darted to him. He was motionless, but nothing suggested what I’d said had given him cause to look at me differently.
“I don’t want that either,” Olowin reassured. “And let’s just say I prefer my balls where they are and not served, cold on a platter.”
His comment broke the tension holding Trike stiffer than a board. “What do you want my boy to do?”
“Show me exactly what he’s capable of.”
“I’ve an idea,” Trike murmured, projecting his idea at me. I checked last night what land I’ve purchased over the years, and I have some land fifty miles south of here, outside of the town. It could be good to build a home on for you. You could excavate the soil there easily, right?
Yep. That wouldn’t be a problem.
What about any trees or large rocks, would that hinder you?
No.
I didn’t elaborate further, excited to show Trike exactly what I was capable of when he was full of enthusiasm for what he was about to suggest.
He was proud of me.
Bubbles of euphoria, that were nothing to do with sex, started somewhere in the middle of my chest and spread through me at how amazing it was not to be a disappointment.
“Do you have time to take a trip today?”
Olowin checked his wristwatch. “I’ve two meetings this morning, but I could juggle things and free up my time this afternoon. Would that work?”
Trike didn’t answer for me, just looked at me and waited. Back to preening like a damn princess, I nodded. “I don’t need to prepare, just need to see what it is I need to shift and know where the earth needs moving too.” I shrugged, getting the impression I’d lost Olowin with my explanation.
“Yeah… okay, I’ll be back at one.”
Gone seconds later, I crawled into Trike’s lap. “How big is this piece of land you own?” I asked, working to calculate exactly how long it could take me to dig and move the earth.
“Big…” All teeth he grinned. “Very big.”
I jiggled on his lap, clapping in excitement at the challenge. “Bring it, Daddy.”
