Once Dell pulls back, we look at each other. I can feel him. He is mine and I am his. He is my omega. I am his alpha. Finally, we are mated in more than just name.
“I love you,” I say softly, brushing some of his hair away from his face. “I love you so much, Dell. Thank you for making me your mate.”
“I love you too,” he whispers. “You’re everything I didn’t know I needed in my life. You care for me and love me and love our son.”
I bring him down into a kiss. The taste of our blood mingles between us which would normally be gross but right now, it’s further proof of our bond.
We hold each other, whispering sweet nothings to each other until my knot finally goes down. Once Dell is free, he gives meone more kiss before heading back into the bathroom, grumping about how he’ll have to shower again.
I’m not sorry in the slightest.
Apparently, tonight I am both lucky and unlucky because on the one hand, I’m a mated alpha. On the other, Flint has decided he’s not going to sleep through the night.
“He’s your son until the sun comes up,” Dell says from the bathroom. I smile as I walk over to our son, taking him out of the bassinet.
I feel like the luckiest alpha alive and it all happened thanks to a cancelled vacation and a curious neighbor. I don’t know if I believe in fate but that recipe should have spelled disaster. Instead, it brought me joy beyond measure. I’ve found my forever and at the same time, it still feels like things are only just beginning. I can’t wait to see where life will take us next.
The End
